So I decided to set up a little fireworks display for the new year and made 36 different stacks of fireworks. From there I split each stack into 32 and loaded them all into 8 dispensers hooked to 2-2-2-3 repeater clocks. (Image below.) As a test run, I backed up the world and fired them off. Then I noticed about a minute in that the fireworks would cause massive lag. Like one frame every 5 seconds lag.
D = dispenser
R = redstone dust
# = repeater with number delay (eg. 2 or 3)
R 2 R
2 2
R 3 R R D
I used TMI's firework builder, so some fireworks are not obtainable through normal crafting, such as fire-length 4 and 5 rockets and triple color triple fade stars. Could it be that these long flight and hard bursting 'works are causing the lag?
Attached is my map, so people can test it out. Coordinates are X=610 Z=-300 if you don't spawn right in front of it.

EDIT: Nevermind. The fire-length 5 rockets seem to have been doing it. Removing these now allows the show to continue to the end.
