As you probably figured, I made an automatic chicken farm. All you have to do is go afk at the collection point and wait and you get almost unlimited eggs. If chickens start despawning, press a button to spawn some chickens. The dispensers fire 36 eggs per button press. The chicken farm/coop has 9 levels, each with 4 dispensers.
The concept behind the automation of the farm is that chickens float on water but eggs do not. So if chickens are in water, held up by signs, the eggs will fall through the water to a collection canal (and the chickens will float).
Inside my collection hut there is the chicken top up button, which powers up all the dispensers which shoot the eggs and consequently spawn chickens.
The only problem is that sometimes chickens or dead chicken items float down for some reason.
I don't really see the point in this at all, but it was fun to make :biggrin.gif:
I'm sure filling the dispensers back up will be really fun.

Chickens die because when too many are in a small area they glitch themselves into solid blocks and suffocate. If you replace your side walls with glass you should stop having chickens die.
