The choice of song is excellent, I love "Still Alive", but all I suggest is that you improve the rhythms. Most of the song isn't just straight eighth notes like you have in the video.
To better improve the panel, I would make a 3x3 platform.
(x being plate, o being space)
x o x
I also suggest planning out your songs on an emulator, then programming with a track selector.
One last thing, if you notice it is a little hard to see the "arrow" or line of blocks coming to you, I would make the row that is level with the ground extrude upwards, instead of a block above causing blind spots.

Yeah, I need to work on that, but I'm just terrible with music. The hardest thing about this creation for me was the song.
I really like this, but I also like the display. How did you make that? Just a huge binary decoder with litteraly 999 lines, or something very clever? I would like a tutorial or atleast explaination on the display. I might want to use it with a working computer that I am building (you will get credits ofcorce)

Other than those details, nice concept =P
For the first suggestion, what would the corners be? What would the corner in between red and blue be? Would it be red? Would it be blue? And how does this improve the panel?
And, I don't really know what the next two things you said were supposed to mean.
I've seen DDR made in minecraft before, but this is probably the best one. I do like how you actually have a soundtrack, and that the display is fast, and not difficult to interpret. one thing that does bug me though, is how there are no corner pads, when there are double notes. and for a suggestion, i would put note blocks that signal when a note is hit or missed. just like a click, and a bad sounding chord

maybe the corners cold be both buttons(red and blue) for maximum score.(think of it as putting both feet on both collors)
Sorry I did not make it clear enough. The purpose of the corner squares would be for double notes. If you remember playing DDR, you had to press more than one arrow sometimes. This would emulate two arrows beside each other. The other two suggestions were: a menu to select songs from, and lower the arrows coming at you by one. It will make the arrows more noticeable, with less blind spots.

What happens if the notes are on opposite sides from each other?
I can't do a menu to select songs from because the songs are so big. There is no way I could fit another song in there that would be 2 minutes long and also be close enough for the player to hear it all. :sad.gif:
The issue with seeing arrows right now isn't really blind spots. Instead, it is the fact that sometimes the block that is pushed by the piston doesn't show up graphically. I might actually switch it over to torches because of this issue.

Suggestions and compliments would be great.
You don't like "Still Alive" from Portal?

10 times better ones.
Thank you!
Can I get a link to the other DDRs that you saw?
Yeah, I need to work on the song, but that isn't really the main focus of this redstone creation.
No download, but it will be on a server soon.
