Well, I've seen tons of people saying "I'm bored with redstone, and I need something new to do." So, I made a small, semi-sequential list of things to do. I've also divided redstone engineering into three major fields.
Computer Engineering:
Logic gates and latches
Basic components (write/read functions & implementing clocks)
Larger components (7 seg displays, decoders, memory cells)
Crutial components (Adders, RAM/ROM, branching)
ALU
combining all components to make small CPU (4bit)
Full CPU (8-16bit)
QWERTY keyboard
ASCII processor
implement ASCII & keyboard into full CPU
Handiman:
Logic gates and latches
pistons and their uses
double doors
circuit organization
piston circuits
piston double door
clocks
controlling water current
Cobblestone Generator
railroads and minecarts
Combination doors
pitfall traps
Have fun with noteblocks :smile.gif:
Development:
Logic gates and latches
HOW logic gates function
vertical designs
Vertical elements (signal splitting, ANDing)
compacting a design
design a gate (XOR, AND, IMPLIES, XNOR, NAND)
design a vertical gate (XOR, AND, IMPLIES, XNOR, NAND)
design a latch (flip-flops, RS-NOR)
design a vertical latch (flip-flops, RS-NOR)
search forums for a requested gate/latch design and try to help
Many people are a three-way hybrid of these three fields, but some are very dedicated to one field. Using this list will help to hone your redstone engineering skills so that you can make absolutely anything you want!
