I've made a completely hidden base, with an underwater door for exiting, and a button controlled piston that hides the entrance shaft. It's my first redstone creation
Not sure if anyone else has said it, but I am a bit disappointed that cascading pistons doesn't work. Even with a sticky piston, they can extend alright, but won't retract.
What I am talking about is a piston attached to the end of a piston. If it worked there would be a myriad possibilities.
A little bit of experimenting and looks like I may have a way around the cascading piston problem!! Hint: it involves repeaters to delay the signal. The piston cannot move when it is active, so the one being moved needs to be retracted first, so delaying the redstone signal might get me around this. I may have an update on this...because this is going to make pistons extremely useful
A little, you can't see the pistons move as my door opens and closes. You press the button, you hear pistons fire about 6 times and suddenly the gap in the wall disappears. (ok, the extra piston noise is because my T flip-flop has a glitch in it that I can't figure out how to fix)

I've kind of made it. I've been able to do the whole wall retracts into itself and then opens part, but I haven't made the stair part. Should be easy though. Also, mine is also less concealed, though it is still invisible to the outside. Just looks messy inside.
well I'm still testing my pistons in my sciance room which been masscred because science waits for noone but what I may do is make a high-tech base in the nether like in the yogcast(up this post if u know which ep) with light switches and a door made using pistons and a lot of other nerdish looking crap.
Well you're amazing for a beginner :biggrin.gif:
That would be cool if they worked like that
Cool :biggrin.gif:
Haha sounds cool
haha keep it coming
Such as?
Are they?

Ohh I see
None of this has happened to me so yeah
Amazing.
You sir, are a god among men.
WOAH
Cool story bro haha
ME and my friend made these.
How'd you do that?

And again, a blog entry with some detail on how it does its magic:
