Hello, I ran into an issue where my block won't stick to the piston when I activate it.
Here's a gif I put together of my setup. Basically trying to have the piston push over another sticky piston and push up a block and retract that block.
sticky pistons only move blocks in the direction they extend/contract, they don't move blocks when they are moved sideways, what you are seeing is how pistons work, if you want the wood to move sideways with the piston you need to push it

Sticky Pistons don't work like that - you have to use another Sticky Piston to move this wood block too
There are two sticky pistons. One to move the sticky piston and one to move the wood block
