The picture isn't much help, we'd need to see how the redstone is connected and how you've set up the hoppers and their contents.
You can post pictures here, when you're writing or editing a post there's a green button with [Upload an image], if you click on it it should open your file system (at least in Windows) so you can chose the files to post.
Or if you drag them over the button it opens up a box where you can drop the files.

Maybe it's just the angle the screenshot was taken from but it doesn't look like you have any comparators connected to the top hoppers?
The way a sorter usually works is you prefill the sorting hoppers, which I would presume would be the top ones, with items so they can only suck in a single type of item.
Then you have comparators that block the hoppers underneath until the upper hoppers suck in another item when they unlock the lower hopper so it sucks in an item and deposit it in the chest which brings the number of items in the upper hopper down so the lower hopper is locked again.
I can't tell from the video how the lower level of redstone is hooked up so I don't know what happens when it detects enough items in the upper hopper.
What I can see is that you have either too long a string of redstone between the comparators and repeaters or too few items in the upper hoppers.
Your setup would seem to detect when there are 69 items in the upper hoppers.
(So if the rest is hooked up properly then any further gold bars above the one you added in the video should have ended up in the chest.)
So either shorten the redstone path, add another repeater or add more dirt to the hoppers.
If you put a full stack of dirt in one slot (and one dirt in 3 slots) it should detect when you have 2 of the item you want to sort.
I don't have much experience with item sorters so I don't know if that's cutting it too close, maybe better to have slightly less dirt and detect 5 or so items.
Alternatively, either setup in my screenshot will detect when the total is 23 items.
(That's for items that stack to 64)

I guess the setup in the background will bleed the signal from one lane to the next and break the system.
And for the same reason the redstone dust after the repeater in the closest one has to be replaced with blocks.
Thank you for the response. I fixed that problem, but im having a new one. For about 2 hoppers, the items dont stay. The filters just go through to the chest. Im not sure whats wrong here.
It could be very hard to tell, since it's hard to see the redstone on the bottom layer.
It could be the signal bleeding over from other lanes, though it's hard to see how that would happen unless you messed up the connections.
It could be too many dirt in the upper hopper so it feeds out all the items to be sorted. I checked and if the bottom hoppers are connected as I think they are it feeds out at least 2 items every time so you need to fill the upper hopper in such a way that it doesn't detect items until there are at least 3 items to be sorted, you could try removing a couple of dirt so it takes 5 sortable items to be detected.
If you dig down in front of and under the chests and remove one chest, temporarily making it a single chest instead of a double you ought to be able to see both the upper hoppers and the torches that I presume control the lower hoppers, making it easier to tell what's going on.
You can add items directly to the upper hoppers, both the ones losing their items and the ones next to them and see how that affects the torches and contents of the hoppers.

If you need more help a world download would be the best way to check what's going on.

Are any of the hoppers still not passing items through?
If they are filling up too much their signal might be getting too strong and bleeding over to the next lanes.
Your signal path is too long (see https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Hopper#Item_sorter how the system should be set up). It may be possible to get it working in this design. That is, many items in one slot will open the neighbouring hoppers so the "blocker" items fall through.
This is how the sorter works:
* The comparator gives an output signal with strength depending on the number of items. 1 to 25 item give strength 1, 26 to 46 strength 2, 47 to 69 strength 3 and so on. (I may be off by an item or two.)
* You have 45 items in your hopper: 41 to be sorted and 4 extras (1 item per slot). The signal strenght is 2 -> the signal will go through 2 blocks of redstone dust and does not reach the repeater below the redstone path.
* If you get one more item, the signal strength increases to 3 and will reach the repeater. Thus, the repeater turns off the torch.
* The max number of items is 68 (64 + 4), which is still signal strength 3. So the signal strength will never reach 4, which would reach the repeaters of the neighbouring units. So even if you have a ton of items sitting on that hopper, the neighbouring hoppers remain blocked.
Your problem is that you have a signal path of length 4 and not 3 . The system should still work if you put in 30 and not 4 items in the 4 blocked slots, but I may overlook something.
And of course you can never, ever put the items in that you have in these 4 extra slots. It's best to use an anvil to rename items for this.
Are the items that won't stay in the hoppers by any chance items with only 16 or so items per stack?
The sorter would have to be set up and/or filled differently in that case.
I can't get much info from your videos, partly because you move way too fast so there's no time to see how things are set up and what's in the hoppers, and partly there's only so much you can tell by just looking at it, it would be better if you posted a copy of your world save so we could test for ourselves and see how the redstone reacts when items enter the hoppers etc.

I'm finding that 64 dirt in total seems to be working for sorting eggs with your setup but only if they come one by one
if I add 6 eggs at once the signal bleeds over to the next lanes which would make them lose their sorting items.
Hi guys. My auto item sorter isn’t working. The items get stuck in the top hopper. They don’t go to the chest. Here is an image:

I will send a pic tomorrow of the red stone. Basically it just gets stuck in that upper hopper. Thank you.
From the first picture i assume you locked the lower line of hoppers.Even though we can't see that much it looks to me like there is a stone wall behind the upper hoppers. That would also explain, why the items get stuck in the upper hoppers, unless the chests and the lower hoppers are full.Afaik hoppers need to be hardpowered if you want them to lock. So even if the stonewall is powered, that won't affect the hoppers.Edit:
Forget what i said, i am pritty tierd and should talk to my pillow instead.
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
Ok lol
here is a overview video. I am uploading through drive because it is a video. Thx for help!

I am new to redstone, so I am not understanding what you mean. The stuff goes in the chest now, but for 2 hoppers I cannot get the filters to stay.

thank you! Should I jsut change it so that there are a total of 30 items in the 4 filter slots?
I cant get the items to stay so Im not sure how to change the signal path thing. I am confused LOL
For sorting Cobblestone:
*EDIT*Buttons renamed to Filter just to be sure they wont mess up the sorting.
I’m not sure what you guys mean. Please tel me in noob redstone how to fix it. Thanks
i think the top hoppers are facing the wrong way unless its supoed to be like that
they are supposed to be like that.

Its a realm with friends so I cant do that. Should I just remove those 2 hoppers?
They are all 64x stackable items
