Now this must have an easy solution, but I'm tired and can't figure it out.
I have an observer impulse and want to generate an impulse that lasts 2 hopper ticks (8 redstone ticks). What's the easiest way to do this? I can live with a delay of maybe 1-2 redstone ticks, but it needs to be somewhat accurate.
Paring a hopper and a dropper gives an impulse of 1 hopper tick (I think). That's all I can think of right now. Solutions?
Could always build a pulse extender. Have 2 comparators side-by-side, facing opposite directions. Have one of them output into a block and the other into redstone dust. Place redstone dust on both primary inputs. You now have a pulse extender.
I forget how many ticks this is but till certainly work better than 1 tick from an observer.
