So I followed the below video, however, I'm having an issue with it as you can tell by the title. I made my farm a little smaller than the one in the video, and am playing on 1.16.4. I'd say mine is about 25 blocks long, which I think is roughly 8-9 blocks smaller than one in the video. I ended mine literally on the last redstone block away from the chest, I didn't do the extra 8 after that as I ran out of room where I was building it. I also added a redstone block right after the hopper. The redstone block 8 blocks away was not powering all the rails where chest was, it was 2 rails unpowered by the chest at the start of it. Anyway, the cart is now on continuous loop to collect the drops. However, the drops aren't deposited into the hopper when the cart goes over it. Am I supposed to toggle it or something? The video doesn't show it as toggleable, just as continuous. Any ideas what might be going wrong with mine?
It seems inconvenient, but one of the main benefits is that you can unlock hoppers when they get partially full or similar things, allowing you to create automatic item sorters!
I don't dabble in redstone much still complete noob at it. But do watch some redstone vids here and now, and build a few things. Nothing really fancy and sometimes don't understand it. I need to sit down one day and watch redstone tutorials to understand what's going on. But still love playing.

When a hopper receives Redstone power, it "locks" and no longer accepts items. Move your power source farther from the hopper to fix the problem
Thanks! Didn't know that! It fixed my issue!
No problem
