I have been attempting to build a machine that places two types of items (i.e. gold and carrots) in a specific ratio inside a storage system. There is a very large amount of items moving through the system and sometimes one item will not be produced as fast as the other so I need a way to stop transporting items if no items are detected from either side of the supply chain.
I want this ratio to be variable from 1:2 to 1:16 or higher if possible. I have tried using an item counter along a primary hopper line which sends an off-pulse to a secondary hopper line carrying the second type of item but it is not very accurate and items often leak through. Ideally I would like it to be as server friendly as possible and not contain any minecarts.
I also tried an even item distribution machine (similar to ones used in non-hopper minecart furnace arrays) but I could never get it to send packets of items in the ratio I wanted.
