So possibly a total noob question, but I'm really struggling. I'm trying to make a basic hidden door (sticky piston door), but I can't seem to make a working button for the outside of the wall and for the inside. I can get one or the other, but not both. For context I'm trying to make this door on the fourth floor so I can't really go down and my wall is one block thick. Here is the link to the video I followed (), but I could't make what he did work so I started messing around. It's not super important that the button on the outside be hidden, just that it works. Thanks
You don't say which part of the video you were trying to copy and you don't show your redstone so I concentrated on controlling the (supposed) redstone torch on the left.
See screenshots for alternative button placements, the extra redstone dust on the left isn't needed for the lefthand outside button.

If you want the redstone signal to turn on instead of off when you press a button just replace the torch with redstone dust.
Thanks. Your pictures really helped. Here's a couple of screen shots of my solution (I took out part of the wall so I could access both sides while I was working on it).

Just testing.
