i just have a question about how to slow down rails and i'm not a redstone guy myself, so i'd appreciate it if any of you could help me.
So it will be though to explain it all and you can skip to the end of this post if you want to know what my problem is, but maybe some of you are interested in the project in general. I'm building a big mob zoo on a SPIGOT SERVER that i have with a few friends.
I basically split the area into 4 parts:
1. normal mobs
2. Jungle mobs
3. Aquatic mobs
and a hostile mob hall, that is underground mostly, going 4 layers deep with 5 mobs on each floor.
This is not really important at all, more like to give you a perspective and show of a little lol.
So, there is a railway tour all around the zoo, it starts and ends at the same point. When going downhill, I put soul sand and packed ice below the track to create moments where you stop on the railway.
Now, this trick isn't working on rails that are going in a straight line appereantly, but i actually want it to slow down for every mob while going through the hostile mob hall, so you have a moment to observe what is built in each cage:
I saw a video on youtube, explaining that you can hook up a really fast clock to powered rails to make it go slow, so i tried that.
I made it, so that when you enter the mob hall a signal from a detector rail powers a dispenser that drops an item onto a pressure plate. This item activates the clock, and sends the signal of that clock to 20 seperate segments of powered rails. Surprisingly, it takes you exactly 5 mins to go through that whole mob hall, so when you reach the end of it, the item will despawn and turn off the clock. I was actually quite proud about that dispenser work around, i'm pretty clueless when it comes to redstone. I'm sure you could do it in a smarter way.
Everything is working the way it should, so you might be wondering what the problem is.
The problem is that this clock is creating so much lag and the fps are dropping drastically while the clock is activated, and that bothers me because so much time went into that project already and its not enjoyable that way.
Does anyone know how i could prevent it from laggin so much? Is there any other way i could make it go slow besides hooking up a really fast clock? Is there any clock that is creating less lag?
I hope anyone on this forum has an idea how to fix it or make it better, i would appreciate it very much.
I'm not a native english speaker, so sorry for all the mistakes i probably made.
