I'm designing an RPG map for 1.8. I'm trying to figure out how to use commands to start the game when everyone has selected a class (team). I can't get it to work.
XD
You just select a team with buttons, then it does /scoreboard teams join Rogue @p. After that, it teleports them to spawn. I just can't seem to get it to not start the game instantly afterwards.

Here is an idea. So have player number select. Then for each player you spawn a redstone torch a block away from your 'begin' block. Have it so every time a player spawns in it spawns a piece of redstone. Once all your players have joined the redstone signal will connect to your block and the game begins.
After that you will want a line of command blocks. I do it ICB(impulse command block)->repeater->air block->repeater. Off the side of your ICB do a repeater fed into another ICB.
The idea is the first ICB in that row spawns a piece of redstone wire one away from your 'begin game commands'. Each command block following in that straight line will spawn a piece of redstone going outwards from your begin line towards the torch.
The ICB that is off to the side will then spawn redstone wire in that air gap mentioned in the second paragraph between repeater->air(this spot)-->repeater.
This is a "smart button detector" that forces you to press the start button the required number of times in order to begin.
(wastes 20 minutes trying to comprehend before attempting)
Thanks, I got it to work!
Hahah I did my best to try to break it up a little! Glad it works! I use that detect system to know when to remove a hitpoint from the boss in my dungeons. I am sure there is a better way but it isnt bad

Do you have them tagged with /scoreboard for this?
I was going to suggest an and gate but I need a little more detail first.
1.8 don't have tags yet I think.
