I am trying to make a map on a flat world but for some reason mobs don't seem to be spawning naturally
Before you go: 'oh, you must have it on peaceful' I checked and it is pumped to hard, so no, not that. 'the gamerule no mob spawning is on' I typed in /gamerule noMobSpawning false, as in false to no (Double negative = positive so mob spawning true)
Could noMobSpawning command be broken or working backwards? Do hostile mobs just not spawn naturally on a flat world now? I did the 'void' flat world option cuz this is meant to have a sorta-kinda sky block theme with parkour, elytra and other stuff. I wanted hostile mobs to spawn in areas so that some islands would have some sort of difficulty than just flying/enderpearling/or building to it. In the Nether mobs spawn, after all the ghasts keep making those annoying noises
Well that's really dumb The void option allows so many maps to be created to much easier! That's freaking stupid! Well, do you know of a good website showing how to get accurate mob spawners? I found one once but it seems broken for the newer minecraft versions and is missing some mob options. Or at least guide me to a website showing me how to create a custom spawner, I know it is possible since I've seen it done a couple times. (If you want after I get the spawners up and finish the rest of it I can post a link to the map)
Pfft, something important? Of course you couldn't have known but the map is literally 100% complete other than no hostile mobs are spawning
This is not the kind of map that took like months or simply just weeks to make, but I'd rather not take another ~10-15 hours Of course upon seeing the map you might not think it would take even that long, but there was a LOT of pesky things to figure out to make it correctly work and it was just annoying a lot of the time. I'll try a couple things but if all else fails I'll do what Shel said.
For anyone finding this now, when selecting flat (The Void) world, in the preset the text ends with the biome "the_void". Change that to "plains" to make the world a plains biome. Won't have a stone platform at the start, so set a block using: "setblock ~ 1 ~ stone"

I THINK this category would go here?

Does anyone know what is wrong with my map?

I would recommend using MCEdit and SethBling's Biome filter.
MCEdit

Forum Page for the filter

Then just change the biome to something else that you want. (other than The Void)
