I have made a bomb that fits into one command block, lights almost everything on fire for miles and is actually realistic, because like a real nuke it doesn't destroy absolutely everything, and it lights stuff on fire. This is how the landscape looks before:

The reason this works is that Minecraft explosions are not actually spheres, they are really just a bunch of lines that are drawn, so if you have a big enough explosion you will notice it is not a sphere.
Before you use this, be sure you have a decent computer (Intel Core i5/i7 from the past ~4 years or better and 4GB+ of RAM) for the least lag. Because not very many explosions are spawned, it will not lag as much as blowing up 5000 blocks of tnt even though it destroys much more. Typing "/gamerule doTileDrops" false before using can help with the lag, but be sure to change it back afterwards by typing /gamerule doTileDrops true!
This works for both 1.8 and 1.9, however the 1.9 version is not properly tested yet. Here is the code:
