Hi, was wondering if someone could help me with a redstone circuit; basically I want to be able to push a button once which will activate a water stream from a dispenser for about 10 seconds then switch it off. Although I can do basic redstone stuff, i can't quite get my head around what is needed. Any help or ideas appreciated. Thanks.
You need to activate the dispenser, then deactivate it, then wait roughly 10 seconds, then activate the dispenser, then deactivate the dispenser.
To do this you need a monostable circuit, that turns the dispenser on and off, you need a delay, to be able to wait 10 seconds, and you need another monostable circuit to turn the dispenser on and off again.
An example of how this might look is the picture attached below (if I manage to upload an image)
There are upwards facing sticky pistons below the golden blocks. These sticky pistons are used to make monostables. The delay in the picture is shorter than 10 seconds, but you can easily extend it or use a different kind of delay.
Hi, thanks for your reply, but buy accident whilst browsing YouTube, I saw a redstone comparator decay/delay circuit by Mumbo Jumbo which was just what I was looking for timer wise, I already had the idea of using a dual edge detector as my activator/deactivator part, and in the end worked out nicely. One Q about your circuit tho is the double mono circuit - I only need to turn the dispenser on once to release the water, wait the delay, then turn the dispenser off to cut-off the water, so I assume you mean one mono circuit turns it on and the other turns it off ... ?
