I find the idea that a feature being easy to add is somehow detrimental to it's value.
Only this: when they add a stupid feature like new stone textures, it smacks of them lacking creativity. Notch could have made multiple stone textures when he first made the game, only he chose not to do that, for specific reasons. I don't think Jens and the Mojangsters are being totally idle. They're doing plenty of work behind the scenes, and hopefully on the API. But the problem with behind the scenes features is users don't see them, so Mojang has to put out something that users will actually see as a feature. Retexture a couple new stone blocks, 30 minutes of coding, 1 hour of testing, and done.
Either way, I think any argument which starts with a pejorative term for those you are responding to is a poor one, regardless of whether that pejorative makes any sense.
And I think any argument that starts with "any argument that starts with X term is a poor one" is a poor one. That's a completely arbitrary reason to dismiss an argument. You're just being intellectually lazy.
Well with such a massive sample size of one, based entirely on feelings, It's a surprise anybody disagrees.

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.
What exactly do you want with survival though? I personally want more mobs such as swimming fish, birds, crabs, and rabbits etc. but then again I like to make stuff in creative with commands and redstone and just building. So I would like more block types (stone and slime have fulfilled this as well as coal blocks and coloured glass in previous updates). I would also like coloured light (so blocks are tinted as the light that goes through glass is the same colour as it) and higher and deeper worlds.
I suggest you play amplified hardcore if you want a challenge. To some extent I agree that survival (especially single player) is boring
as seriously there isnt much point in exploring. I mean, they could at least add an achievement for say 'discovering all the biomes'
Some of the things i have stated above, they may already be working on such as coloured light or higher/deeper worlds
Ye, but like. more mobs? Nothing gonna add a more tense into survival,
i want something new, a new way of creating tools, Revamping old parts in a good way.
DIFFICULTY :C
You really dont read what i say and just see text and instantly reply dont you?
And how are you going to enforce the rules on a server? Tell me.
I did read what you said and I know that you said those things were not "actual" difficulty. You don't need to enforce the rules on the server because it is your gamestyle that you are affecting. If you want to restrict yourself to iron pickaxes then you can do that, but if everyone else is happy with their enchanted diamond then they can go right along with that.

Take a look at BTW, a mod that became big because people wanted fair challenge in MC that mojang didn't do since notch left. (Inb4 go play that then)
No, if you want the game balanced, do not look at that mod. It has the exact same issue as Vanilla, but in the opposite direction. Just because it makes the game unbearably hard instead of unbearably easy does not mean it makes it balanced. Balanced would mean that Easy would be easy, Normal would be a medium difficulty for those that like some challenge, and Hard would be borderline masochistic. That would be a balanced game, BTW is just the most conceited man on the internet making the game unbearably difficult so he can then go and whine at Mojang on Twitter.

Balance is a tricky thing. I'd like to see those who are complaining properly balance such a popularly large game like Minecraft. On top of that, in the past, there are always significant additions after the first snapshot.
The current snapshot may not be terribly large, in your opinion, but size is subjective. I think it is a large snapshot. Enchanting got a total overhaul. Lapis has a use. We have the first bouncy block of the game. Trading got an overhaul. We got new decorative blocks. Previously uncraftable blocks are now craftable. In my opinion, those changes make this snapshot large.
If you don't like the update, don't update. If there's nothing you like about it, why would you even want to?
@SinisterBro
If your suggestions do not gain popularity, then you should consider the idea that your suggestions are poorly designed or that the player base is not interested in them. Don't scapegoat.
"because its so damned easy the advanced players get bored as heck"
There's your main fallacy. If you give somebody who knows math well a problem like "10^2", they'll answer it in a second. It's as simple as it gets. If you ask somebody much less experienced, they may have difficulty with the problem. So of course, there is going to be a significant difficulty keeping advanced players challenged, without upsetting the balance for the less experienced players.
You could argue that there are 4 difficulties: Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardcore. However, that is a fallacy. Perhaps there are advanced players who want to be slightly challenged. Perhaps there are advanced players who want an unreasonable amount of challenge. Perhaps there are advanced players who want an easygoing, carefree experience.
So, the problem is not as simple as "making the advanced players interested again".

I don't think you can call yourself an "advanced" player if you are getting bored.
-Advanced minecraft players will take matters into their own hands and set rules for themselves to shake things up a bit.
-Advanced minecraft players might choose not to wear armor to add difficulty.
-Advanced minecraft players are generally good builders and they take on huge projects like fortresses or castles.
-Advanced minecraft players build massive sorting systems and farms for every item because they can.
-Advanced minecraft players don't get bored because they have the maturity to tailor the game for themselves.
If you are getting bored because the game is easy then I don't think you are an advanced player. If you get bored you probably haven't taken on many huge projects or built impressive redstone creations. If you change that you will find yourself interested again. And if you want difficulty then you can lose the armor and use a shovel as sword. It isn't hard to do that and it certainly takes less time than arguing about it on the forums.
AND if you have done all of this and you are still bored? I don't think that's Mojang's problem. They can't cater to everyone.

I never implied it was Mojang's problem.
In fact, I was suggesting that essentially, the age-old problem of players (advanced or not) getting bored of a game is insolvable. It follows the same logic as the idea that you can't please everybody at the same time. However, I disagree that advanced players cannot get bored of the game. I would consider myself an advanced player, and I got bored of the game, having started in Beta 1.2, and played ridiculous amounts of the game up until recently. It isn't that advanced players become bored because they are advanced, it's simply that they've exhausted their capacity to find enjoyment out of the game. It should be noted that I do not consider myself bored of the game because of a lack of things to do, I find myself bored of the game because I simply played too much.
Also, I have to, regretfully, agree with Kholdstare on one count; forcing yourself to ignore balance issues does not resolve them, nor does it necessarily make the game better for you.
Oh and about the wishlist, right now you have about 10 ideas in one thread and they are all abstract and not explained in the least. I think putting 3 ideas in 1 thread is the least of your problems.

Currently: -3
Sadly i gotta update because mods update and so on.
Did i scapegoat somewhere? Pardon me if i did then. Wasn't my intension.
Well, im trying to expand SSP, Making death a thread again and so on. New players would basicly deal with it if they didn't play mc before. (Atleast that what i would do) And (Word for new players who started playing but are still pretty bad at the game) Would require some thinking and a change of tactic. I see nothing wrong in that. same happened to me in same games.
Well. Difficulty modes, i just wish (this is a stupid idea) That difficulty modes actually did some more stuff. like adding extra hazards, survivalism and so on. instead of plain buffing monsters.
Well, im off sleeping now. And im gonna focus on my java skills again. So maybe one day i can make minecraft the sandbox/survival game i can make it be ( I do gotta wait for a stable moddable version like 1.7 or 1.8, because modding 1.6 would be useless now.)

It might have sounded like this but I wasn't point those things to you. Rather I was simply stating several reasons why an advanced player wouldn't get bored. I was more directing what I said to SinsterBros.
True, perhaps boredom can come even to advanced players after a long period of time but to people who just get bored because it is too easy they have no reason to be bored.

Minecraft is and was a sandbox game. You are supposed to do whatever you want in it. If Mojang forced difficulty on everyone then there would be less sandbox in the game. Where it is right now you have the ability to make challenges for yourself easily.
What you've been telling me is that you suck at building, you suck at redstone (then how did you make a massive sorting system?), and you want more difficulty. If surviving is the only thing that you are good at then stop giving the "ignoring problems" excuse and get back into your world and add a challenge for yourself. I've already given plenty of examples on how to do this. You can even try living as a nomad which works for you because you don't ever build a finished house and you live from day to day. That sounds like the kind of cutting edge, fast-paced gamestyle you seem to want.

It just feels stupidly overpowered, and i cant fix it that i feel like iron armor is darn strong compared to leather, and it even is dirt cheap to get.
Well, tell me. Without modding the game, How i can make iron armor not OP , Dont say the usual, Thou shall not use da iron armor/armour.
Sorting isnt difficult.
i do build finished houses. They just mostly look like crap. But it might be me because my own friend made the same exact house and i loved it.

That is like saying I am gonna make a game where the strongest weapon costs 1 gold, and every enemy you kill gives 5. Then I just say "If you guys don't like that, then don't buy it!". It should be noted that I do not consider myself bored of the game because of a lack of things to do, I find myself bored of the game because I simply played too much.
Also, I have to, regretfully, agree with Kholdstare on one count; forcing yourself to ignore balance issues does not resolve them, nor does it necessarily make the game better for you.
...but that's just like, my opinion, man.
Yes, because quick examples should be well written with 50+ words about how one has to explore to find a brewing stand, (For example ^^)
1. Ignoring problems.
2.Ignoring problems.
3.I got minecraft for a survival, not for buidling stuff because i know i suck at it.
4. Did. Because i was done with ''survival' after playing for 3 hours on my world.
5. Well, i tried for 365 x2 days. still doing today. just gets boring without a challenge.
If i find the game EASY, then im a bad player, I am meh in redstone, i can make good piston doors and traps to stop zombies from breaking a door but thats useless because iron doors.
About the lose armor and use shovel, ignoring problems.
@debugman18 i read all of your post but my quote system went jack on me and after 10 minutes of trying i gave up. So here is my response:
Balance is tricky, its hard to fight the middleGround, just as you said on a big game, i just think the current difficulty is like this:
Hell difficulty (aka btw) +5
What i want: 0
Good night everyone
It might have sounded like this but I wasn't point those things to you. Rather I was simply stating several reasons why an advanced player wouldn't get bored. I was more directing what I said to SinsterBros.
True, perhaps boredom can come even to advanced players after a long period of time but to people who just get bored because it is too easy they have no reason to be bored.

1. Fixing problems yourself
2. Fixing problems yourself
3. Then make survival more of a survival by adding challenges yourself
4. Congrats.
5. Then make a challenge for yourself.

Ok, look. Im just gonna say it.
I like enchanting, i like anvils, i like most of the game.
Also, this forum should have a automatic Multipost merge. because it happens alot with you scum and also to me .
Scum, I usually like most of your posts, but it should not be up to the players to fix Mojang's failure of balancing the game. And saying so is just logically wrong.
Oh and the forum does have a multipost merge, but I think if there is a big time gap between your posts then it won't automatically merge them.

That is like saying I am gonna make a game where the strongest weapon costs 1 gold, and every enemy you kill gives 5. Then I just say "If you guys don't like that, then don't buy it!". It is always the job of the game developer to fix balancing issues. Never has it been, nor will it be, the job of the players.
Yes thank you you've already explained that once or twice.

I was merely explaining my point further. I like to be thorough when I present my argument, as a lot of people on here can be thick if I do not spell it out for them.
