Whenever I try to play a world, I end up getting annoyed often. Why? For some reason, music tracks constantly overlap each other, and it can be very nonsensical. For instance, Three separate tracks came on. One for morning, one for night, and one that I can't remember the function of. How, exactly, does that work?
Has anyone else been experiencing this problem?

It's still happening for me. Anytime I play on the 1.72 version I have to turn the music all the way down, because it literally NEVER STOPS. Often playing at least 2 songs at once.
Maybe some of the songs are looped? I know my friend has been experiencing this same bug, but still, it doesn't make sense. The day and night songs are set up so that they do not last long enough to overlap. Maybe they should insert a terminator to stop all songs that aren't relevant at the time? Like set a time of day and a time of night where the opposite songs are halted to stop this clashing of songs.

That would be a simple fix, but why are they overlapping in the first place? In fact, I've noticed a lot of weird glitches that only happen in this version despite the fact that, iirc, it only added biomes, plants/flowers, and AMPLIFIED.

I get this same bug, and not only that, i also cant seem to turn off the music! i have tried turning off music and ambient/environment off, but the music still is playing! Man i cant wait for the new bugfix update because the bugs are so bad!
I just started getting a similar music bug/annoyance.
I WAS happy with the fact that the music would stop when I hit ESC to pause the game to answer the phone, make dinner, etc.
Unfortunately, now the background music doesn't stop when I leave a world and go back to the world selection screen.
If I don't want to go into "options" and turn the music off I have to quit completely and go back to the launcher.
Frankly, I'd like to see a "mute" hotkey.

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.
When I run into this problem, I put five jukeboxes in a row, put all of the same music discs in them, then destroy them all-the clashing music will be gone. Well, there's a problem you can run into if you're playing survival...unless you find five music discs and make five jukeboxes.

That might be a fix, but I shouldn't require luxury items to fix an annoying glitch.

P.S. I know this comment is outdated.
I don't exactly believe the cause of this bug, but I can't find the new 1.7 music in the .minecraft file.
Therefore, it may be placed on a different random loop for running the songs.
Also, not on topic here, does anyone know where to find the minecraft music from 1.7? Anyone? I can't find it.

Kyoshinda, this is the only bug I have found in 1.7.2, and turning off the music is a good workaround for now.
