My only real complaint about the removal of roses is that I really, really don't like the style of sprites these days. They don't fit well with the old sprites at all, the horse armor, for instance, looks like something from a bad mod. The new flowers are the same way, they just don't look good. Honestly, I wish that Notch would at least keep doing the sprites, even if he doesn't do anything else for Minecraft now.

Yes, there are also a lot of people posting about how much they don't care, but now we've reached a part of the internet I don't understand, because if they discare so much, why do they post and keep the thread going?

People change Minecraft to suit their tastes. At its core, the game stays the same. "Tailor" would be a catch-all term for resource packs, texture packs, plugins, mods, custom maps, and other tools like world-edit.

I am just going to add, that if the rose was retextured and renamed to something different, then it isn't a rose anymore, thus the single rose is still no longer in the game. So the whole 'It's still there, it's just not.' thing doesn't really work.
The poppy and rose are a few pixels away from each other, and they do the exact same thing. The rose is still in the game, it's just been renamed, which can be fixed with a language pack if it bothers you so much.

I appreciate when people want to argue with me. I actually really like arguing, as long as it stays civil and on-topic. The problem is with people arguing about how much I care, and whether I should care. The fact is, I care about losing the rose, and I could be completely dead wrong, but I can't change how I feel.
And there don't seem to be two equally balanced sides in this thread either. There isn't a side that says "I hate the rose and good riddance" (though I think a few people have said this). There's mostly a split between people saying "I really really want the rose to stay" and people saying "meh, whatever".

As for it being a legitimate issue? Let just say you are correct. Then that means, every single part of the game is an issue. I bet there are people out there who don't like the wool. I bet there are people out there who don't like the cats, and so on and so fourth. There will always be people who don't like something about a certain part of the game. So if we count them all as issues, fine. Well then we have to filter out which ones are more important, and which ones are just plain stupidity.

Now of course, as I said before, there are people who don't like all sorts of things in minecraft. However, you don't see a thread for every little thing. Why? .... because it's childish and they know better then to complain about it. They are smart enough to simply just ignore or get over it.

I never said the poppy and rose were exactly the same, however the poppy and rose have the same function, have almost identical sprites and even have the same item id. The only major difference is the name, which such a trivial issue that it shouldn't matter.

All of the premises Spaceboot laid out in his OP have been proven wrong countless times. Since he drew his conclusion from flawed premises, his conclusion is also therefore wrong. This topic should be locked, as it's pointless to argue our point any further.

If you are trying to convince someone of a point, it is up to you to prove that your point is valid.
