So I made a new world and found practically all the new biomes, but not a single Redwood Forest. 10,000 blocks? Nope. 20,000 blocks? Nope. Are they as rare as Mushroom Islands or something?
Well deserts and Jungles are more rare then Mushroom biomes now. So I am going to guess this:
Redwood biome --> Mushroom Biome --> Jungle and deserts
The problem is that Jungles and Deserts were my favorite biomes in Minecraft ... =(
Wait what?
Did they just switch the rarity? Like jungle and desert biomes are as hard to find as mushroom biomes or jungle and desert biomes are harder?

Not that I have seen.

Deserts are definitely NOT rare now, but Jungles/Ice-Spike/Redwood/Mushroom certainly all are.
I only found a seed w/Redwood at spawn by chance, but haven't found one since; the seed is HERE
Also, I feel it's appropriate that they're rare (Jungles+Redwoods that is), as you get a lot of resources from both of those biomes (melons/coca beans/vines in jungle; moss-stone/pozdol in Redwood)
Yes they are, they are also small when you find. I think deserts are not even a biome anymore. I think they are a technical

Dude...I've seen loads of deserts...Mesa's, Jungles, Redwoods are all definitely rare.
But deserts? Hell no, they're still somewhat common, only slightly-rarer at most.
If you really want a desert+Jungle, use my username as a seed.
I just hope they make them normal spawning rate again... I mean Jungles and deserts are type of a biome which are totally different then any other biomes.. Deserts well they are totally different then any biome in Minecraft. As for Jungles they are different because they have different type of tree and the way biome is shaped, does not look like any other biome in Minecraft. Unlike the new biomes they added, for example the Roofed Forest. That biome is just like a forest to me. They should make the grass color little bit darker and maybe make a new tree instead of using Oak wood in every biome..

2 Jungles
A tiny sliver of Ice Spikes
1 Mesa Plateau
About 3 Savannas and Savanna Plateaus
About 10 Deserts
About 15 Swamps
Tons of Taigas, Cold Taigas, Plains, Roofed Forests, Extreme Hills, Extreme Hills+, and all the other common biomes.
About 5 Birch Forests
3 Flower Forests
I think the massive amount of Roofed Forests and Extreme Hills could be cut down and replaced with more Redwood Forests and Jungles. Also, the general size of the climate regions seems WAY to big... I only changed from warm to cold regions about 5 times during my search... sure, it's realistic, but it gets boring seeing the same terrain types over and over for thousands of blocks.
but ive found 3-4 to only 1 of most of the other new ones, and I had to look for seeds on here for mesa and ice spikes (ice spikes is my favorite thus far)

They don't spread onto dirt blocks. So you could have a podzol area transition into a dirt area.
Did I mention I can't find an ocean for beans!!!!!!

Thanks! Now I've finally found one.
That does sound cooler, and makes sense, since there aren't actually any redwood trees, per se.
Uhh... okay?

Village right near a Mega Tagia, just climb the hill you spawn next to or fly up and you should be able to see both.
And the road of the village is nearly a square, which is neat.
maybe im just lucky.
