Okay, so as the title says, I love how the new zombies are! It makes the game a little bit harder (I think it still needs to be harder) and I think the zombies are a little bit more realistic. I love how the zombies spawn other zombies so you can have a giant hoard attacking you at once! It's so cool.
I really don't understand how some people are complaining about the new zombies. I thought people wanted Minecraft to be more challenging... It makes no sense to me. maybe the new zombies are more than they can handle!
So tell me what you think of the new zombies! I personally think they were a great addition!
The majority of players don't want the make the game harder, it is mostly a very VOCAL minority (albeit a rather important one) that asks for it.
However, the problem is not that Hard mode becomes hard. The problem is that the changes are NOT tailored to have different effects in Easy and Normal mode, making the game unplayable for those groups of players. For example, think about 5 years old Bobby playing on Easy. He can't play anymore. Think about 90 years old Granpa playing on Easy. He also can't play anymore.
That's the problem. Making the game harder is fine. On Hard. Maybe even a little bit on Normal. Definitely not on easy mode.
Also, in most Multiplayer servers, you just can't skip the night like in SinglePlayer, thus the player has no choice but to survive each night. Having to CONSTANTLY fight INFINITE HORDES of mobs each and every night (or all the time when underground) might appeal to some types of players, but will turn off players that like the excitement but only once in a while, not all the time, and prefer to concentrate on amassing resources and building. It would be like asking a fighting loving player players to need to eat 1 food item and mine 1 stone EVERY time he swings his sword. He would just say " I just can't fight in peace I am constantly interrupted by this need to eat and mine". Well, same way, builders and explorers say " I can't .
Only a total moron would suggesting "just turning to peaceful mode!". that would be like suggesting to a '"fighter lover" player to "just switch to Arcade mode, where you have an infinite stream of mobs coming at you and there is zero food items in the game, heck there are zero blocks also and no tools except the sword, and only a 16x16 platform, so you can fight all you want!". Of course most fighter lovers still like the mining aspect, it's not just their main concern, just like the same way of course builders and explorers still like the fighting, just not when it is throttled in their stomach non-stop with an industrial piston. So yeah anybody suggesting turning to peaceful has only 2 brain cells.
For the "normal" players, zombie apocalypse might be exciting the first 10 minutes. Then it become a major annoyance that just cant be turned off. I myseklf play on Hard and have nothing about having to fight a big zombie hordes every now and then, to spice things up. Let's say every 2 or 3 minecraft nights you get with a REALLY tough battle. But when it becomes a NON-STOP thing, eveyr Minecraft night, then that isn't "Hard" difficulty, it just becomes insane instead.
Hard should be they way Zombies are now, normal should have decreased aggro range and decreased horde spawn rates, and easy should be the way the were pre-1.6
The only quirk I dislike about the zombies is the spawning of a new zombie when you hit them, I'd understand if it was spawned off in the distance 10-15 blocks away however when they spawn 2 blocks behind you or on top of you they're a real nuisance, especially when you're already low on health. I personally am a fan of a harder game but I believe that there should still be a good medium and easy mode.
I agree with Ouatcheur. If I decide to play on Easy, I dont want a challenge. I just wanna play. On normal, I want a bit of a Challenge, but not too much. If I decide to play on Hard, I want a challenge. Then I want hordes of monsters after me. They should've added a bigger difficulty curve between Easy, Normal, and Hard.
Here are my idea:
Easy: Zombies spawn no zombies, range like in the old zombies
Normal. Zombies have 10% chance to spawn zombie, range like now.
Hard: Zombies have 40% to spawn zombie, range like now.
i was thinking more like 20 percent on easy?,well that just my way of thinking on it

Oh, but you think YOU'RE tough enough? ...I invite you to spend a couple nights in a village on Hardcore. Try seed "Pompano Beach" if you need one, but be advised - you're gonna die within 20 minutes. Or the villagers will. ...You're not gonna have a good time, that's for certain.
Also, I just had a creeper spawn on me when I hit another creeper. Instant death. Just dumb...I'm not bothering with hardcore again until they tone things down. How fun is making a wooden pickaxe over and over and over again supposed to be?
Zombies agro from 99 blocks away, turn villagers into zombies and spawn more zombies when you hit them. Villages are now zombie city's as zombies glitch through fences thanks to hoards of zombies packed together.
If you leave your castle/house at night to go kill a few spiders/skellys/creepers expect to be chased by hoards of zombies coming from 99 blocks in every direction.
Agreed.. it's just as annoying as when 1.5 came out and skeletons got their normal bows replaced with machine guns in disguise.
No kidding. It's completely impossible to get close to a skelly if he's sat in water as he fires so fast he always pushes you back faster then you can move towards him.

Zombies are more fun, I'll agree to that. So you get hordes to beat up. And it's fun!
Though I always forget to eat while fighting otherwise I fail to regenerate. ._.
