So who else is upset about the "balances"?
So you make it harder to heal naturally, and then you nerf all the health potions.
Wonderful, and what else, now you also nerf the regeneration.
May as well nerf dieing too so you re-spawn at half health...
So now i have to eat food every 1 1/2 missing hearts, wonderful. now ill take 4 more in the process of recovering the 3 i lost in the previous mob pile. And then ill lose more while recovering that.
Im not the only person who doesn't want to be eating ALL THE TIME am I?

Not to say I wouldn't like to see some death penalty besides exp loss... But, health is already annoying as is. I'd rather they just add thirst rather then making the heath system even worse. At least that'd add a very small bit of variety over just eat more bread...give glass bottles use pre-neither too...
The difference is... it makes little difference when my wheat farm gives me 200+ wheat every few minecraft days. Its just a bigger waste of my time without increasing my game experience in any way.
I usually play on hard so every like idk, 2 mobs I fight with I need to eat with the old system...
And since most food grows better during the day, this is a big negative becaue its another strike against advantages of not sleeping through night.
The hunger + zombie change just = more people mob tower and less likely to fight because its a bigger pain for junk drops.

What would you consider "challenging" then if you don't consider the zombie changes challenging? Will giving them better pathfinding be challenging or simply just a nuisance because they'll be able to get to your base no matter what? I would say it will make it more challenging, but someone else might disagree because zombies are still too easy to kill, but buffing their stats wouldn't help either because it will only increase the times you need to hit the zombie before it dies. It's complicated, specially with the combat system Minecraft has.
An example would be the post above. Surely you would say some of those actually makes the game more challenging, I think skeletons having higher range does, but someone else might say it's just annoying. I would also say the game having "fight or flight" makes it more fun since you can't just go up to any mob, spam your mouse, and it's dead, but some people actually like that.
The area getting harder I don't see as much of a problem. Everyone has bed, just carry one and use it as soon as it starts getting dark. In a cave might be the only place it might change it a little. But... no one says you have to use a cave, strip mining works just fine.
Back when I was a new player in late alpha/early beta before beds we did actually make bases for mob protection and included things to do inside during night that or we built on the ocean with no mobs. I don't really see much problem with it being in the area you stay in.
We used to ALWAYS spawn on sand and it was almost always next to the ocean. Things like water current defense around the base that funnels them all to a hole, (course we didn't have pistons then to crush em.).
I always think its a HUGE shame beds and charcoal ruin people of needing big bases or to THINK about mining so as to not run out of torches.

Making mobs I can easily mob tower harder right AFTER you just nerfed the useulness of their drop is just meh. Skeletons suck to fight unless they have no room and I could care less about the drop. Just like I could care less about rotten meat which is worse than almost any other food in the game. For a while I actually did care about killing zombies back when it was the only way to get carrots and potatoes. But mojang quickly fixed that by giving villagers tons of it. So zombies became worthless to me again. It was actually pretty smart, give a mob you'd kill a ton a drop you'd need to breed pigs for one of the best food items in the game. But, nope, nope give it to the already op villagers...Minecraft...pfft rename it to village quest and papermill factory quest lul...
The way the game is right now, whole thing needs rebalancing and I don't mean just the heath system. I mean villager trades need major nerfing, iron golem needs to lose the iron ingot drop, beds need to have some night they don't work.
We went from a game where you had to mine nearly everything and trade with players...To Mob Tower/npc trade it all. Need iron? Iron golem farm 64+ stack every hour, Need gold? Pigman tower, Need diamonds? sugarcane farm + village, need exp? enderman tower. Theres like a tower for everything now. You can even do witche if you get lucky enough to find a hut.
I can remember when I mined for stuff, its a long..long...distant memory. I can see things like big mines..but was it just a dream?
They can make the "Junk" mobs as hard as nails, but I don't CARE about killing them. That's a huge reason why they're annoying. Because it doesn't matter to kill them.
The beta bows were like the best weapon in the game so getting arrows was super worth it. The bow today is MEH so I don't care about arrows. 90% of the time you see an armored mob they don't drop any armor or its too heavily damaged to use much. They nerfed it from haing an okay drop rate and being about full durability because durrrrr...its op a zombie can drop 1 iron ingot iron shovel, but my 64 iron an hour iron golem farm isn't.
The mobs won't top being annoying until they are actually worth killing. And with the current system that ain't happening unless those mobs get something silly op or get boss spawning items and the boss drops something silly op.
Guys be serious... Eating food a waste of time??? You guys are babies. How long does it take? Hmm let me think... oh yea! 2 seconds!!! You guys are such wimps. "Oh I have to spend 2 seconds of my time eating food! Its such a waste of time!" Want to waste your time? Try and get an elephant to jump...

Ok now your just being pathetic. First, Villagers don't trade diamonds and second: The enderman, pigman, and iron gollum farm all take a load of resources. I don't really see people having the time to do that. Everything that you said is "op" is not op at all. Villagers are chest and give you bad stuff. There not common so you don't always get carrots/potatos that way. Stop dwelling in the past cause those times don't matter anymore. Minecraft has changed. For the good. Either suck it up and play the game, or quit the game and cry in the corner.
Villagers DO trade diamonds. I have full sets of diamond tools and armor just from my sugar cane farms. All you have to do is get a library villager's last trade to be good and you are set for the rest of that entire world unless something kills it. Add that to the fact my iron golem is "Naturally" next to the diamond villagers I'm getting all my free iron right after I get done trading with him each time.
Iron golem farms take next to no resources to make dude. A few iron buckets (Which you can get from the golems) and a little lava. You can make a functional iron golem farm in a day after you find the village.
The old mob towers weren't really balanced, but they certainly weren't giving you everything. Even the tnt required you to dig all the sand. The best you were getting were arrows and that's it.
Even the zombies featherr drop required you to make sticks and dig gravel. Arrows from skeletons were the only ready to go item you were getting without any more effort.

Actually they do trade diamonds. Yeah, endermen and pigmen farm takes a lot of resources, but iron golem farms don't. Villagers are pretty common and you only really need one to get tons of carrots, potatoes, and villagers (by farming and breeding - which is really easy). Villagers give pretty useful items such as diamond armor, tools, and weapons, and it's so easy to get emeralds from wheat and paper trades. Minecraft changing for the good is subjective. The additions aren't bad, they just need major balancing, and unfortunately, neither Mojang nor the majority of this community knows how (or wants) to do it.

Its not hard to know what needs doing, instead of making things worse like making the fortune enchant right after upping tool durability and armor durability on top of adding unbreaking enchants. Oh and unless they fixed it, did I mention if you pay to enchange anything with a villager it returns the item to full durability, even if its diamond? So you don't even half to pay the price and your getting a full gear + its enchanted to boot!
This game is only not raining diamond/iron/gold/exp if you don't know what your doing.

The complaint is that we have to eat CONSTANTLY which in combat, gets you KILLED
yes there are things you can do, like towering, but not all of us are sissies. I actually enjoy that through weapon switching and evading i can kill hundreds of mobs non stop. Now this is gone.
Also to everyone complaining about xp farms, golem farms, etc... just find a server where the owner doesn't allow such crap (like myself)
Strict rule against it, strictly enforced. You play like a man or your not welcome.

The way you said it actually made it sound like the changes to hunger was good.
Okay lets rephrase that then, now we have the opposite extreme.
Now you get hit by one creeper on hard, your down 8 hearts. It will take 6 individual food items to reach max health again, since each one can only get you 3 more life points. Yes i still die normally, thats from making bad decisions, getting cornered, or getting blindsided by enemies. Yes the system in 1.5.X is too easy but this is a stupid solution...
NOW
If they made the minimum required food points to heal lower THEN this would be interesting.

Towering is for people that have better things to do than play the grind game. If it makes ya happier I never made a wither skeleton tower. I just made two floors for the skeletons to spawn on and hit them with a sword while using fire potions for the blazes. I've also a while back made a hardcore world and killed the ender dragon. Was before the wither got added, not even sure you can beat a wither on hardcore with the new potion nerf unless you build the area to your advantage. Think it took me 2-3 weeks on that hardcore world to reach the dragon, but that's mainly because you have to be careful on hardcore and my nether fort that world was hard to find.
I've been playing a mod recently that mostly throws balance out the window. Diamond and gold blocks with huge veins of emeralds all over underground. Surface mobs dropping gold. When you craft the mod's tools they have just about every enchant possible at max level auto. Then the mods adds boss monsters that have attack, hp, skills so high some of them can't be normal killed by the player even in this most op gear possible. For instance one of them 5x knock backed me until I feel into the bottom of a buildcraft shaft with a lava pool. Then as I'm trying to swim in the lava, the boss jump down from sealevel to me and holds me down for like 3 minutes under the lava with knockbacks until I finally kill it. In the mod all mobs, including vanilla ones are bsically 1 hit ko with the sword except bosses (Not too far from vanilla really with the right enchants/potions).
Its shiny, new, big explosions, rare everything drops in your lap....and 3 days after installing it I'm already starting to get bored and just leaving ores undug.
I could see 2 years down the road minecraft being like it, except WAY, WAY, WAY more grindy.
I still think they are trying to turn this game into an old school korean grind mmorpg ever since the adventure update. But, they don't know what to do about mob towers.
At first it was like, lets try to compete with the towers by making everything people normally grind give exp. Then it was, we'll start nerfing mob spawners (Where TONS of people then complained).
