Check your recycle bin, if it's not there, i'm sorry to say; it's gone
It's illegal to redistribute the launcher. You can't email an executable file(the format the launcher is in), it's also illegal and won't let you.
No, I'm saying where to download it legally.
Mojang claims that you still can on their website, as it says in the new launcher download page, but it's not there for me.
Could someone provide a screenshot pointing it out, also, just in case I'm missing it?
EDIT- I've also been told the launcher is still in my minecraft folder, but I can't find it, nor do I know what it looks like. I need this for Mac.
I don't even have a separate graphics card for Minecraft (using Intel HD 4000) and was able to play maximum settings and get about 80 frames per second on 1.5.2. Download 1.6.1 and am saddened to see the FPS drop to 15-25 frames per second on my superflat worlds. On my test server with standard biomes I am literally down to about 6-12 frames per second.
Besides the lack of a dedicated GPU my laptop is solid.
Intel i5 - 2.5 Ghz
6 GB of RAM
64 bit java, latest version
Intel HD 4000 Graphics
I hope that Mojang can fix this problem that many people seem to be having.
Oh yeah the launcher uses a bit of RAM (This also happens with FTB launcher).
Also the fact both launchers have a ''Console'' feature which tracks things that happen in the game, eg. saving chunks for dimensions.
I just fixed the problem by making the java executable use my discrete nvidia card through the Nvidia control panel. However, many people only have integrated graphics on their computers. Also, the nvidia card is not as power efficient as the Intel. It seems like the new Minecraft launcher is not compatible with integrated Intel cards. I think the problem is happening because Intel cards use as much Video RAM as they need to, Minecraft does not seem to request for more VRAM. This could be a glitch with drivers, the new launcher or java. Then again, I'm not sure although it's been happening to only users with Intel cards.
EDIT:
Use this video if you have two graphic cards and want to switch to the discrete one:
This only works if you have an Intel Integrated card and a dedicated one. Currently, there is no fix for people with only an Intel GPU. Video was not made by me.
I'm not a huge fan of the new launcher...
It looks great, and even for some people, runs better. The new additions to it are awesome, but the performance drop is insane(for some people).
I would love to play 1.6.1 for the updates, but the lag makes it unbearable. My normal FPS was about 40-80, capped at 30. Now, with the new launcher, even playing 1.5, I get around 10-23FPS. It needs a bug-fix, or an alternate option for people who are experiencing performance issues.
I have an Intel HD Graphics Family card(not the worst, but not the best. Integrated)
6GB RAM PC(Desktop). If anyone can help, please do; Either this topic, or PM.

They took it down, sorry to say..Here's a tweet. minecraft.net is the only legal site, they distribute it.
(twitter) (Tobias) @mollstam "minecraft.net is now updated to reflect the latest version of Minecraft: 1.6!"
I am having trouble! I downloaded the new browser and when I get into the game, it immediately freezes. When you close the game, you see the message Java platform SE binary has stopped working. I have deleted and re downloaded the latest version of java, both 32 bit and 64 bit to no avail. I do not have any mods. Now I cant even play the old version because I replaced the old launcher, WTF!!!
You seem to have a different problem. Start a new thread. This thread is for people with Intel GPU's running Minecraft with low framerates.
Also, people with Intel cards may update their drivers: https://downloadcent...om/default.aspx
This increased performance for me although the game still runs at unreasonable framerates. I still can't believe that Mojang released the new launcher in this state. So many people are having problems.
Yeah, kinda wierd. Old launcher no probs. New launcher, steady decline in fps, till I run to a new area, then it picks up a bit, but the longer I stay in one area, the more the fps drops off. Sounds like some kind of a coding issue? Definately not my system. On the old launcher I could play vanilla or modded minecraft, maxed out settings, have a bunch of browsers open, loading youtube, all kinds of stuff, never had a problem. New launcher not running anything but vanilla, problems. I'm on a Intel HD 3000, 4gb ram, 2ng gen i3. Maybe something in the code for the new launcher doesn't support the way the graphics chip operates? I know some games "ask" the graphics cards/ chips "hey, how much memory you got?" and graphics cards /chips respond with "I got this much" and game says "ok, well, we'll run THIS good". The thing with the integrated chips (my understanding) is it only uses as much memory as it needs to perform the task at hand. Some games don't work well with that. Typically those that use auto graphics settings. I tried adjusting the setting in game, and every time I changed one of the settings, higher OR lower, went back to playing and the fps would pick up for a bit, and then drop off again. It's freakin me OUT MAN!
Well, went into the profile editor and under JVM argument, increased from -Xmx1g to -Xmx2g, thus providing more memory to minecraft. And in the debug screen it showed that there was indeed more memory to be had, but Mincraft wasn't using it. So still getting the same drop in fps. Updated Java, and everything, still, no change. Fired off an email to mojang support, hopefully I will hear back soon, I'll share whatever they have for me here.
GOT IT!!!! Turned ON Advanced OpenGL in the video settings menu. Have no idea what it is or what it does, but I went from 4-9 fps, to 30-60 !!!! Totally awesome! Imma go get me a horse!!!

*__* I don't believe it.
It worked. Weird, with the old Minecraft(launcher, and shizzle wizzle), I got worse performance with advanced OpenGL off.
Guess no one thought of this? It's crazy. The performance seems better over-all. "IMMA GO GET ME A HORSE"!
EVERONE! WE HAVE FOUND A SIMPLE SOLUTION!
For some of us, atleast. Also, never forget to read the fine-print

I can also attest to this working. Has greatly improved my FPS, and is a very nice quick fix. This is especially good for people with integrated graphics. If you want to know exactly what this setting is doing, go here: http://www.minecrafthasrunoutofmemory.com/advanced-opengl-for-minecraft/
Advanced OpenGL did nothing for me, in fact, it made it worse.
This would indicate that, on top of an integrated graphics card (GPU), your processor (CPU) isn't that great. Could you give some specs, as working off of conjecture never really does a lot of good.
