Well 1.5 added the ability to seperate items from a stack in your inventory by either holding down right click with an item selected in your inventory, or shift + left clicking with an item selected in your inventory.
All I have to say right now is well, this has to be the most annoying addition for me mainly because it always does it to me when I dont want it to when I am seperating stacks normally with regular right clicks and such. This feature has more gotten in my way instead of being a help. I really wish mojang would make a toggle for it, mother of god its torture for me.
Sorry to say I think your alone there. It's immensely easier now. If they added toggles for everything in the game, the settings page would take days to sift through. There never was a right click and drag function before, so it hasn't overwritten anything that was there before. If you don't want to use it then don't.
If it's happening when it shouldn't, your doing something wrong. I can still do it the old way without any trouble at all.
You are missing the point, I hate it because I right click so fast when crafting, it randomly messes me up by putting items in spots where I dont want them. It annoys me to no end and I can't just not do it. It's unavoidable for me.

You can, you just don't want to make the effort...

You are probably moving the mouse across inventory slots with the mouse button down. That is dragging.
I have put in the effort, The game is just too slow to register that I am not holding right click. Much like server lag. I would have to click every couple seconds to avoid it, and no, my internet has nothing wrong with it. Think before you decide to troll next time.

I do not hold down my mouse button, It's probably the merge of ssp and smp making singleplayer have server lag, which most likely makes it mistake me for holding right click when I am not. Sometimes it even splits a stack in two and puts it in two seperate inventory slots, it annoys me to no end.
Minecraft could stand more of the "secret" options in options.txt, like disabling the HUD tooltips when you select an item in your hotbar.
If you don't like HUD tooltips, use optifine. Updates about 3 hours after MC updates, boosts FPS, gives more options to toggle, including HUD tooltips.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
For backwards time travel to be possible, wouldn't every instant in the universe have to be stored somewhere, or time to be something physical you could travel through? Either way doesn't work with the current laws of physics.
PS: From your signature, you seem like the type of person who goes around complaining about what Mojang does or doesn't add into the game. I'm sorry but you have as much sympathy from me as people who complain about terrain generation.
Actually I rarely post threads on this forum, maybe one or two every now and again. But I rarely have any reason to post on this forum. Nor do I go around complaining, sure I think to myself that I might dislike the update, to be honest between beta 1.8 and release 1.5, 1.5 was the best of all of those in my opinion. Sure I dont agree with the bonemeal nerf and this hold click thing bugs me, but all the redstone stuff and nether quartz was nice.
What I am trying to say is, I right click quite fast when crafting, sometimes it randomly causes it to instantly put say... 2 wood planks in a crafting table slot instead of one, or puts a wood plank in a spot where I dont want it, I do not hold down right click, for all I know it may be an unmentioned 1.5 bug that may or may not be with the feature, I have yet to update to 1.5.1.
Also the reason why I click so fast is because I am in a rush to get resources before the sun goes down. I like having a good supply of wood, and a shelter with a few torches before the night arrives.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I actually wound up turning off sigs for myself long ago, so I dont even remember what my sig was.

They could just add an extra page to the controls.
I have read this thread and the posts in here. I tested some stuff out on my own Minecraft. And here is what causes your problem:
Your mouse and/or your computer is total crap on a cracker. *QUICK EDIT: Not trying to be offensive or anything. Just trying to make a point here.*
For me, rapidly clicking with the right mouse button works just fine, as intended. The holding down features work, which I personally love, speeds up so many things. So the only problem that could cause your annoyance is either your mouse or your pc, which might be a tad slow. But that does not give you the right to complain about this on this forum. Seriously, you are alone with this 'problem'.
Now that I noticed, I think you are right on my mouse, but not my computer, my computer is an absolute monster built for gaming(It's an iBUYPOWER computer), my computer has nothing to do with it. However I have noticed somthing weird with my mouse, sometimes on the internet when I middleclick a link to open it in a tab, it sometimes opens two of it, I think my mouse thinks that its double clicking when I am not, its only a logitech mouse, my iBUYPOWER mouse broke a couple months back. I think my weird mouse combined with the 1.5 feature is whats messing me up, as this has not happened to me until 1.5 and the new feature. At the moment though I cant just magically spawn a new mouse, it'll be a while before I get a new mouse, at the moment my money goes into more important stuff such as electric bills, internet bills, propane, groceries, etc. I guess I will see if I can keep a couple dollars on the side for a replacement mouse.
Well since I have found the problem, I believe this thread should be closed before further trolling occurs.
I thank you for defending me in this thread, now I remember why I call this the trollcraft forums.
Wait, wha? This is the trollcraft forums because people didn't agree with you on your opinion of a feature? Or, are you just referring to the two posts behind you?

Think I will be on here often? Haha no.
Either way, this new inventory managing tool is something I actually miss when I have to rollback to 1.4.7.

That would be nice to have. I would be nice if the option was in that even.
