Has anyone been able to get ANY HD texture packs to work with ANY snapshots? I tried the last couple of snapshots with (13w09a, 13w09b but textures don't load and fonts are messed up. I used the MCPatcher 1.5 Prerelease version but it doesn't seem to work (All options are greyed out and unselectable.
Supposedly that bug was identified and was fixed in 13w09b. I hope they fix this in the final 1.5 release because I won't be upgrading otherwise. I could never go back to standard textures.

Speaking of texture packs, i heard that it was replaced by a button called "minecraft realms". apparently a few people have access to it outside of minecraft, is this like a new way to handle texturepacks, or perhaps an early version of the modding API?
Are the texture packs compatible with 1.5? If you use an older one then the terrain will still look default.
I use the latest Misa texture pack. However none of the other HD packs I have seem to work. I need confirmation that HD texture packs CAN be used with snapshots. Maybe I am overlooking some step I need to take.
I've not tried with the last two snapshots that just came out, but I've had HD texture packs working since they made the change from a single sheet to individual tiles. This is without using either Optifine or MCpatcher. So if there is a problem, it's a recent one that just happened. (Maybe related to the new requirement for animations?)
Mind you, this does require a pack that supports the new layout. I had to edit the packs I use to make them behave properly. I don't actually know of a pack that's 100% compliant with the latest snapshot at the moment.

This gives me a clue. The Misa texture pack has a single sheet and it's not broken down to individual tiles. I have heard a mention of some program that converts old texture packs (Provided by Dinnerbone?) but I don't know what it called or where to get it...

Also, can you tell me what HD texture packs you had success with? Thanks.
Usually texture packs update with versions NOT snapshots. Since we are on version 1.4.7 then the textures will be 1.4.7. Although some stuff like books might be outdated even on 1.4.7.

I've got a post somewhere in that massive thread where I link the unstitched tiles but rather than forcing you to hunt for it, here they are: Glimmars_textures.zip
To use that you would first download his 64x pack (the resolution I used) and then unzip it to it's own directory inside your texture pack folder and then unzip the .zip I linked to inside of that. (Provided of course he hasn't added the unstitched tiles already. I've not downloaded his pack that recently.)
Course MCpatcher is working on supporting the old format without editing and it also has the CTM features which the default game doesn't. (All the default game got was animation and HD) So if you really do want the best experience from your textures, wait for MCpatcher.

That makes sense, thank you.
Well it looks like you found the unstitcher link, but for those who don't have it:

As for what pack I was working with, mostly Glimmar's Steampunk
