I think that Minecraft should have more made-up characters. And the texture is not original at all too. Everything is included there, like the pimple on the nose, purple robe and that wizard hat. I really liked villagers and iron golems because they were so original...
I do agree with you on this point, though. Even though I don't know what the hell Mojang was thinking when they created the model for the Testificates, it is original.
My favorite part is it took the witch to get them to complain, enchanting tables are more magical, what about the nether and the magic portals it takes to go there. "Witch" is just a name for something that is in essence some sort of potion master, in fact the witch isn't very magical at all.
Exodus 22:18
Basically it says you're not supposed to let a witch live. Different translations use different words, you could also say wizard, seer, sorcerer, etc. but most people who get worked up about it are reading the King James which says "witch".
This whole debate is just silly, if we got rid of anything which might offend someone's religion we couldn't have skeletons, enchanting, machinery, killing, zombies, and pretty much everything other than stacking blocks. You can't stop some people from being offended, the vast majority of users are perfectly ok with it.
As for the subject of whether it fits with the Minecraft theme, that's up to Mojang to decide but most people would agree that the Witch does not stick out as being unusual. The Witch is going to stay, there's maybe a couple hundred people complaining on the forums out of several million users, so please stop arguing about it.
Doens't fit in minecraft? how do you know what fits on minecraft if it isnt implemented?, and if I think enchanting isn't minecraft-like then it should be removed? you dont feel lonely anymore? what about villagers? Dont want them? dont go to swamps (that are ugly already) or if you go, destroy the hut, they wont spawn, as simple as that.
minecraft needs to be more spread out. make vilages and strong holds more rare. and add a1.7.3 terrain generation button to the game.

1) Is not the passage I would quote, personally.
2) Don't take this wrong, but you really have no idea what version of the bible anyone reads, so don't make assumptions like you do.
3) Not really, this topic has done some things that will effect this games development, and the people reading it, for, perhaps, years to come, the mere fact that it has not yet done what I was wanted it to (at least yet) is irrelevant, none of us know just how much this "debate" will do.
4) I do realize that it is a reality that this game is going to offend people, for various reasons, for example; one person that I asked what he thought about Minecraft thought that it was the poop-stain of all video games, because of the the poor graphics. Does that mean I want the the graphics changed so that he will like them? No (Primarily because I, and a lot of other people, love the bad graphics that Minecraft has, and many people would be upset if it were changed), but I think that it is still the best to, at the very least, change the name, because: the people who like it as it is now will still like it, but that people who don't like the name will be happy.
5) None of us have any idea what all the people who play Minecraft think, but I will note, about 50% of the people who voted thought we should change the witch, about 30% thought that changing the name would be good (at least as a start), so statistically, about 2.5 million people would be happier if the name was changed.
And zombies and skeleton archers weren't in books before Minecraft?

That is my thought, I really do like it as a new mob, but it could have been much more original, and therefor cooler
