Numbers of "Internal server error" from time of update (02/08/2012) - 97 (and I count only these which left behind crash reports).
So, what kind of "new computer" I should buy? Because, according to your "it's all fault of not having brand new PC" logic, rig mentioned above is obviously not powerfull enough to cope with the game.
PS. No, described machine is - sadly - not mine personal...
Have you tried playing any other 3D games on this computer?
Because last I checked the quadro series was a workstation card, and they are made completely different from gaming cards.
Also having 2 cards in sli or crossfire if your AMD does absolutely nothing for minecraft.
Just checked. Your dumb and shouldn't be playing games on that computer. Even a 550ti is much much more powerful.
After having saved up $1700 to buy and build my own computer... it gives me immense satisfaction to tell all of you with performance issues to... Go and buy a good computer.
I find that this update is great. Now, I get about twice the framerate I did before without too much lag. 1.2.5 for me had around 30 FPS, now, it's 60 FPS.
He said, btw I used to play with about 15 fps in the lowest configs, and now I can play on fancy with about 30 fps

What-what?
I just read OP again, and I can't find "FPS", "framerate", "slow" words. Instead I find "fix the issues multiplayer has", "same exact issues as multiplayer", "the issues that multiplayer has always had".
"This section is in place purely to discuss the most recent official Minecraft Update."
If you want to Report this post, you can. But you will get nothing if you don't have a reason. This is the right section, and we aren't doing nothing wrong. Just discussing and writing points of view.
When I see some post that suggest really stupid things, I don't report it, because if is in the right section and isn't spam, the people is totally in the right to post it, regardless of I like it or not.
Keep that in mind.
Starting with the topic, it doesnt really share the "spirit" for a proper discussion. Then lets go to another issue is that some people is not mentally prepared for a discussion and then to bash, rant troll or whatever and this is worse when its about a very marked two sided-discussion where two parties will NEVER understand ar reach an agreement, even if both of view are valid, but maybe not exposed on the most proper way.
When you think someone is going to make a mistake or just made it you should correct him on a diplomatic and humble way,its your dutty as a forum user to keep the forum clean from unnecesary, stupid or possible "threatening" thread. Im just doing what i think i should do and excersice a right i have.

You was the last post, I don't know if someone other quote me :s
First, I'd not make this post.
Now, this place has obviously got a discussion. Look at the post! I mean, sure there is some spam post that not add nothing to the conversation. But some others really expose their opinion and want to add something here.
And, I don't think is easy to have the "special spirit" on every post. Due the large quantity of people that we know that will be dumbass, offtopic, will talk about nothing of the OP, will just say "whiners" or "mojang fans". After a time posting, I get tired, because is everything like that. But some post really are polite, regardless of the side that they are.
Also, I quote that line not because I want to say "we are all discussing", I wanted to say him that this post isn't breaking any forum's rule
Now, on-topic:
I really don't know what was, but Minecraft 1.3.1 Vanilla start to go really fast, just like SSP for 1.3.1.
Even with Optifine was slower, weird. Maybe is because I activate the v-sync on the config file
Anyway, mods still buggy :S, and when I change to Peaceful, it takes like 3 seconds to delete the mobs.
But, is something!
I will be honest, 1.3.1 was a good update for me, granted, there are some bugs that are a little annoying to some, and game braking for others, but I find that my 2 year old $700 laptop that I got from Bestbuy (for school) runs the game as good as, if not better, in 1.3.1 then in 1.2.5, but that is just me, and I know that other people are having much worse issues on better machines (unless you are all lying about your specs, which I doubt)
Actualy I've had little problems in singleplayer. Its the Multiplayer!!!!!~ that has been nothing short, But Aweful for me -_-'
-Tons Of lag on Every server
-Lag
-Lag
-Did I mention LAG!!!!
What else is to be expected? All minecraft updates have been the same for quite awhile. Every new "feature" is either completely idiotic or taken from a popular mod.
i got tired of reading this thread after the first page so im just gonna report on what ive seen thus far. for he who is bitching about minecraft being the "buggiest" game ever played/made/released since 1.3.1 and is complaining about rotatable logs, why dont you take the time to read the 100+ or so bugs that were fixed in the last month of snapshots. rotatable logs is simply copy and paste code from pistons.
for those who crash get DC etc after traveling, this is a result of the single-player server and it was SIGNIFICANTLY improved in the week 30 snapshots but a simple fix and is guaranteed to work is allocate 2 GB memory to java, not minecraft, but java. docm77 has a tutorial video on how to do this and minecraft will not crash due to traveling (or massive chunk loading)
those getting low frame rates, upgrade your graphics card or, for some of you, actually GET a dedicated graphics card. im cranking out 200+ frames per second max settings with a GTX 670. that shoots up to 1500-2500 on fast graphics (that isnt a typo). and thats at 40% power.
for those who cant stand the bugs in this release, dont play it! go back to 1.2.5, or wait till the next patch is released
I am a fan of 1.3, it was a great update. Now that all the problems that existed between SSP and SMP have been combined, the issues can be found and resolved that much faster with better results. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, with the new snooper feature, they should be able to track such bugs which will also speed of the process of find and correct said bugs.
i never thought about the snooper feature. not sure though if it will detect actual gameplay as this would bog down anyones computer beyond minecraft capabilities. dont think there's any way for it to actually detect if the game is running as intended.
possibly bugs they already know about are being tracked?
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, with the new snooper feature, they should be able to track such bugs which will also speed of the process of find and correct said bugs.
That's totally true. I don't know if Snooper and '/debug' command have the same functions. But both are very useful for finding bugs.
Off-topic, but, was the Snooper in 1.2.5?
I mean, in the code
Games don't need to have perfect mechanics or a million hours of gameplay or the best story but what they do need is to not have a dozen small bugs that pull you out of the world and remind you your playing a videogame....Please don't go on a rant about how Minecraft isn't realistic so your idiot that you thought you weren't in a videogame....its the little things that pull you out of the experience....find a new place to set up a castle/house/base.....look around notice about 15 different DARK SHADOW spots on the cliffs.....pulls you out of the game.......extremely slow terrain generation even after its been generated so now your seeing through a mnountain you've already been on b/c you walked a certain distance one way then came back pulls you out of the game, riding a minecart long distances and having the terrain generate in front of you 5-10 blocks pulls you out of the game, running around only for the new system of the game being run through a server to drop in a mob that you couldn't see at the last second.....pulls you out of the game. Honestly I was more into the game in Alpha when it actually had less small bugs then amost a year after the FULL RELEASE where it has more...how is that even possible to have more noticeable bugs after full release?.....Everytime I fire this game up now I'm greeted by small things here and there that just pull me right out of it.......

Please redact better, I'd not understood nothing :S
Now, I think that "they do need is to not have a dozen small bugs that pull you out of the world and remind you your playing a videogame" is a pretty bad argument.
I did not understand the "pull out of the game"
Big difference between a third world problem and a first world
Your comparison of famine and starvation to having an underperforming luxury item is horrendously insulting
So it is laggy? So it crashes? Any bugs now will be fixed a lot faster now that they can just do multiplayer bugs instead of Singleplayer. They will also be able to do much more peformance increases now that everything is multiplayer, so bugs and performance increases will only have to do multiplayer. That is the main reason why they did the merger (Along with the mod API). Bugs and crashes are part of video-games, before, now, and forever. Also, people with crappy computers, your going to have to stop playing minecraft on it at some point. Mojang will hold updates to minecraft back cause a crappy WIN98 wont run minecraft without crashing.

I was trying to insult. Honestly, "simple solution post" bother me. "You have a bad computer", "You are wrong", "If you don't like it, don't play it", "Better go away from here", etc.
Those kind post are not saying really nothing clear. And this thread is not a "Help, please tell me that I need a new computer".
Also, this is off-topic.
EDIT: And again. Is a analogy. Analogies don't mind big differences.
This is a repeat thread, it should not have been started anyways, as there was already several threads with this topic, but besides that, He/She shouldn't even be telling you that they are reporting it, much less tell you the reason why.
I was trying to insult. Honestly, "simple solution post" bother me. 1) "You have a bad computer", 2) "You are wrong", 3) "If you don't like it, don't play it", 4)"Better go away from here", etc.
1) This is what some peoples problems are caused by, not all people's, but some
2) Most of the time (that I have found) that is said when the person complains saying that this is an issue for everyone, which it isn't
3) This argument doesn't really help anyone, so I don't think it should be used, however, the version that was out when you bought the game was well worth the money you put into it, otherwise you probebly wouldn't have bought the game.
4) This is mostly because there are quite a bit of people say that they are going to stop playing minecraft over whatever issues they are having problems with (and lets be honest, if they are going to stop playing, why did they post on the forums to tell us all this), this is not the case for most people, but it still makes some people think that way
Oh, and don't use that type of analogy, a child dies from starvation every five seconds, so more then likely, in the time between when I post this and when you reply to it thousands on children (not even counting adults) will die from starvation, it is a mockery of the lives that they don't get to live
