I'm trying to make my own trap with the trip wire... So far so good, but I can't make a toggle-able clock :S Redstone torch burns out permanently after one loop. Can't seem to fix it.
Ohh, I just checked the inventory and the silverfish block is in there. Neat. Only the stone brick version, though.
Wait so is adventure is really the only new thing in this

Well besides the trip wires and stuff but I didn't try that
I don't have minecraft yet
Mid air tripwires can be deactivates by placing a block under both hooks. Walking through the wire turns the hooks up, as if they are unattached. Removing one or both blocks, then walking through it again sets and activates it.

that is a presumptuously idiotic approach to understanding this Snapshot.
did you miss the fact that mining ore and smelting ore give XP? or that World Generation received an update to the jungle region? or the fact that Enchanting has been overhauled?
The better question would be, did you actually read this snapshot info before making this post?
This is the most significant update in a long time.
Adventure mode? XP from MINING and SMELTING? Jungle ruins? On top of everything else... Did not expect this, I wonder if there's any more. I'm glad that emeralds can be found higher up now, it is the extreme hills biome after all.
I got a transmuting bug again - knock out a cobble block and it get's replaced by gravel, which pops, and the blocks above transmute into gravel. I imagine they are gravel all along, but seem like cobble at first for some reason.
Also, my personal pet hate - overhead lighting glitch of a torch in a single block space - is NOT fixed. Oh well, perhaps next time?
I just put a torch on a block, and it turned into redstone. I imagine it will be pretty hard to find diamonds if you have to put a torch on it first....although it might just be me. I might log off/on again and see if it's still weirding out.

It's gotten on smelting the iron so you can't farm the iron/gold for EXP (place & replace).
I haven't tried the new enchanting system but it sounds awesome.
Adventure Mode would be good for adventure maps.
Trip wires, placeable string, emerald blocks, jungle temples all don't count?

They do look sort of like advanced versions of dungeons ripped from the ground and filled with arrow traps

OMG emeralds are too rare.
We need to complain to Mojang about this
LOL! Don't you ****ing dare! (I don't swear often, BTW)
And pigs
To expand: once you walk through it, the only way to reactivate it is to remove the blocks below the hooks.
