Further tripwire findings: Dropping a block on it does nothing. Using a piston to push a block in its path acts the same way as manually destroying the string.
Oh hey, I just noticed you CAN have trip wires in the air and you can activate it by going through
Place a string ON TOP of another string
Given how very hard it is to see string, this should be altered.
You can place gravel/sand directly on top of string.
Falling gravel/sand will destroy the wire if it's stopping point is on or one block below the string. Otherwise it passes through without destroying or activating anything.
I found ruins in the jungle with tripwire and levers that do something related to some redstone thing! I dont know if i can take screencaps busy at home, but trust me go look for yourself.
By related to redstone, I have arrow traps
Oh hey, I found the levers too. They opened something I believe.
Been doing some testing, and it looks like XP is now very easy to gain as every block of coal, redstone, diamond and emerald mined drops xp. Iron and gold also give xp upon smelting, presumably to prevent the block being placed and remined for an infinate amount of xp.
Fortune doesn't appear to have any effect on the amount of xp dropped, although I may be wrong.

Tried replacing a mined block and mining again but it only drops the exp once.
Tripwire being tripped has a considerable delay. My testing varied due to the size difference, but it seems to have a delay similar a redstone repeater set to 3.

Snapshot time! Quick overview of changes:
. . .
. . .
I have absolutely no clue what to feel about that O_O
To add to the enchanting thing, 30 is the new max for levels, and the bottom option will always be 30, but that appears to be intentional anyway.
Place a string ON TOP of another string
Confirmed item changes: String can now be placed
Anyone figure out the crafting recipie for tripwire hooks yet?
I find it a lot more useful like this

By related to redstone, I have arrow traps
Oh hey, I found the levers too. They opened something I believe.
I think I heard pistons move
Also, does that mean naturally formed pistons?
Made experience easier to acquire
Fortune doesn't appear to have any effect on the amount of xp dropped, although I may be wrong.
I checked out the redstone behind the levers and I don't really see much.
I'm not really sure what the pistons did
Tried replacing a mined block and mining again but it only drops the exp once.
It removes 1 block of the floor in the middle section. There is a chest in the room with the pistons
I kind of just broke through the wall, so it seemed pointless to me. Though if you are in adventure...that's where it would shine
