Nothing quiet like being greeted to this.
Can't revert back to standard 1.2 because i've already gotton way far in the server branch...
I also know this is a semi-common issue, but i've tried alot of the suggested fixes. this didnt start happening until last night and i dont want to ditch the world either because it's been with me since pre-adventure update
I've disconnected and reconnected a bajillion times, restarted minecraft, restarted my computer, updated my graphics drivers, etc. but it isn't working.
It took me a ton of tries when it happened in the Nether, but I eventually got in. It's really annoying, but I've not encountered one that was completely irreversible.
Yeah that's a really REALLY annoying bug. Just keep logging in and out of your world until it works. Although I never could get it fixed while I logged out of the Nether. I ended up using MCEdit to move myself out of the nether.
But yeah. Your world isn't gone. It's just really really glitched. Like i said just connect and disconnect from that world until you get it. Though sometimes in my experience Minecraft will sometimes just crash. But yeah. Just... you know don't do anything foolish like deleting the world.
it was happening to me and I was just re-logging to fix it, sometimes it would take a few tries.
now it won't load that world it stays stuck a dirt screen then turns black and locks the window until I restart my comp. it leaves the same crash reports it was when it was just the log in problem. I have since erased the entire minecraft jar, reloaded the snapshot and it still does it to that save but the others are fine. a back up of the corrupted save works but still has that falling in the void bug.
I have a creative save that I logged off while flying and this bug happened but I did not fall. it seems like the world loads but none of the terrain as I was able to go down into the void past the fog until it was completly black and back up to the clouds again. for some reason I could not get to the void that kills you it was just black.
I didn't go to the Nether in the snapshot yet, so that's probably why it wasn't too major for me. There were times where I re-logged about 8 times to get it to work. For some reason when I move the mouse sideways really fast it seems to load better.
Finally got back in. Literally just spent 3 hours logging in and out. Just to be met by another chunk loading error. The chunk I'm on, is the only one that loaded lol. As long as my world isn't corrupted, I'm happy. Next snapshot should address the issue.
ALSO: When I was in my world without any terrain, I set my render distance to tiny before I quit out. I don't know if that made a difference or what, but give that a shot next time because I was able to get in - albeit laggy- just enough to escape the nether.
A lot of people say your world is corrupted when this happens but I haven't had one world get truly corrupted. Just keep saving back to title and reopening your world and eventually you'll get back. I suspect what's happening is the world just fails to load properly.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Under no circumstances do I want villagers building ugly little houses in my world. That's my job. Link Removed

any suggestions?
It's a bug in the latest snapshots.
don't say that....
well, it was working all weekend, then last night it started doing it. i dd what you did, and it eventually worked after a couple tries.
then i got lagged out in the nether and and i cant get the damn terrain to generate :/
hopefully i wont have to delete the world. perhaps its stored somewhere i can access it or something... UGH!
