Pfft. I tried to warn you all in at least 5 different threads about your misconceptions of emerald ore. It was only in existence to give history/lore to the existence of the emeralds. The primary way to obtain emeralds was always intended to be via trading. But too many people just didn't get it, and complained so much that it had to be removed from the game because they perceived emeralds as rare. Now we have a currency which has no background or grounding in the world because of QQ. Still.. its removal does not really effect me because just as before I will obtain emeralds in the intended way. From trade.
So what about those who don't use generated structures? Now they have no way of obtaining kickass emerald blocks.
Congratulations. You guys wanted a new ore and when you got it you you decided to mass spam him complaints until he decided it would just be easier to take it out. I wonder how long it will be before you get a new ore now.
I don't see what that has to do with removing an unnecessarily rare ore; there aren't any easier/more reasonable ways to collect Lapis Lazuli like there are for Emeralds.

"Victory is like a watermelon. It's hard to spell and it tastes good."
"Many complain that emerald ore is too rare. It's intended to be a "nice find," not the main way to gain currency. Will remove it again."
I don't understand this. He took time to make the ore and incorporate it into the world gen, but just because of some complaints about them being rare he removes it? But... that was the entire intention. I don't get it.
I've tweeted back at him. Waiting for response. :/ I've been wanting new ore for the longest time, I don't care if it's rare, that's the point! It's supposed to be a lucky thing to come across, not the primary way of getting emeralds. And by trading it could be pretty fast to collect emeralds if you really try. People are just so whiny, it's stupid.
It's density was fine and it's max level was fine. The only bad thing was how it was only in one damn biome. Something can't be a nice find if it only spawns in one biome. Because you need to be a a certain biome to find it, thus you are searching for it, not just finding it while looking for diamond, gold, etc.
This whole situation is as stupid as complaining about zombie dropping iron sword too rarely. From start, trading was clearly supposed to be the main way of obtaining emerald, the ore itself only being a bonus.
If you think flooding Jeb's twitter feed and insulting him will reverse this you're wrong. It's only going to reinforce his position.
how does people complaining about an ore being rare want to make you take it out completely instead of the rareness just being toned down a bit?
You're supposed to obtain it by trading with villagers. That's it. Emerald are not rare at all. They weren't before and they aren't now.
Complaining about emerald ore being rare is like complaining about dungeon with iron ingots in their chest being rare. It's completely missing the point.
I get the feeling that Jeb wants to teach the ungrateful trogs of this world a lesson.
I can understand that. Some of the folk that post on the internet come across as horribly petty and selfish.
Let's hope that some of them learn a lesson today.
It's time to grow up children, and if you want to be grown ups then you need to learn how to give constructive criticism, instead of spitting out your dummies.
And most of all, realise that Mojang are going beyond the call of duty to give us new content. We should all be extremely grateful to them for that.
A week of bitching will surely get Jens to come around, lets wait and see
Yea, either that or it will make him think twice as hard and long about adding any blocks to the game. Sure let's just keep doing what annoyed him in the first place. he'll surely respond better the second time around.

Yeah, you can't expect to add a new ore and have ppl think, "Ehh, I'll just do things the same way I always have, if I happen to run into emerald it would be nice." No, everyone will go straight for it.
@those who say make-more-common: He said that would be bad because it destroy the currency because it would be too easy to find.
So what about those who don't use generated structures? Now they have no way of obtaining kickass emerald blocks. He might as well. Stupid Lapis, how I hate you so. I can't even sell you.
Praise be to Spode.
*not amused*
NO!!! KEEP IT!!!

"I re-implemented emerald ore, but now it can only be found in beach biomes, have fun".
Praise be to Spode.

Except he didn't remove that feature, and it's way dumber than emerald ore.
