Weren't the pyramids and the obelisks some kind of energy transferal device, used to gather the ambient radiation from the planet and power alien technology?
Maybe aliens are going to invade the minecraft world!
I think you should be able to make cactus into wood planks because currently if you start in a desert in survival mode escpiccly if you are in a large biomes world....Its unfair to have one bioime that puts you at such a severe disadvantage....

Oh man. One of my favorite seeds from early beta had me starting out/spawn on or next to a desert island. Things REALLY got interesting after the first sunset, heh heh. I was hiding in a tiny sand shelter at spawn on the first night with no top and a skeleton or something jumped into my shelter from above and started beating the crap out of me. When I respawned he was still there and started wailing on me again, heh heh. I had derped and in my rush apparently hadn't made the walls high enough.
In any case; I kept playing that map, and I actually had to go a pretty good distance away from the island before I found any trees at all, and for a good while would respawn in the desert every time I died and had to make the Mad-Run to safety each time.
I loved the hell out of that map and still play on it in fact. It gave me challenge and goals and incentive. Everything I did in that world was pure legit and no mods even. Heck, most of the time after beds finally came into being, my damn beds wouldn't work (bed is obstructed) or some such crap no matter how I moved it... So I definitely had to secure my default spawn area as well as the entire route back to my Tree Lodge.
Heck; I eventually tunneled up to the surface of that island once I had a secure tunnel and supplies from my tree lodge, and slowly pushed back the Evil-Darkness enshrouding the island with the Torch-Light of Justice! I then dug the entire Sand-dune covered desert island flat and declared it civilized for later development.
Now to remove those arbitrary pools of water that scatter across deserts.
Deserts are suppose to be void of water, and yet I can't take a step without seeing pools, even LAKES of water!

I can see jeb removing those pools of water.. Then right after that making water necessary for survival (drinking). Muhahahha! LOL

They're the one thing I can't stand about deserts.

To me, water in deserts seems more common. Kinda odd, isn't it?

Aw hell naw. This is the stuff I expected when the first screenshots of Strongholds came out. If these were in the game...
Of all the conspiracy theories I've seen...
