I disagree with Locklear for the reasons others have posted, but I find this to be quite a foolish thing to say, in any situation.
Not every situation is a matter of opinion.
For example. You buy gas from a gas station. You can't say no and be right because you do buy gas from a gas station(That's what they're called in the U.S at least. Never heard them called anything different for any different areas of the world). That's not a matter of opinion. Its a fact.
Its also a fact that the Enderchest doesn't make the game easier. It makes it less annoying. If people want the annoyance of leaving caves to take items back to their base, or they want to make multiple long trips to transport items then they don't have to use the Enderchest. This literally is not a matter of opinion.

Locklear is wrong, in that he doesn't actually have an argument or isn't willing to provide one, but it's not a fact that it doesn't make it easier. The Ender chest does make it easier in specific situations. If I were changing my base from one near spawn to one that is three biomes away on a Large BIomes map, it'd be multiple trips, usually across terrain I could fall and hurt myself on, with food wearing down, and the risk of night time, as well as the risk of not being able to find my base. The Ender chest removes those risks and makes the game easier, it does remove challenge in that aspect, but those are challenges that the player has to intentionally create. They could be avoided through a rail system, using beds, or any other legitimate play scheme. This just exists as another option and makes it easier.
Locklear is wrong, however, because it doesn't remove challenge that naturally exists, but it increases ease of play without being to the detriment of natural and legitimate challenge.

Statistics show that people who tell others they need to get a new computer are twice as likely to use "gay" as a negative descriptor and will most likely never see genitals in real life, at least while not in prison.
That's just ignorant, it would be obnoxious and solve nothing more than Jeb not having implemented something incredibly stupid. It's not even a solution to the problem you've proposed the existence of. It can still be used in all the same means, and it'd still be less trouble than what it remedies.

Traversing terrain isn't difficult, replenishing food during travel isn't difficult, digging a few blocks into a wall to avoid night isn't difficult, and trying to find your base doesn't add to the difficulty. All that adds to the annoyance factor, which translates to the frustration factor, which is what this allows us to skip.
And eventually you still have to traverse that terrain because you have to eventually go to that other chest if you're using one. If you're caving you're probably not even using the second one. You're probably just using the chest for temporary storage. But even then you're still gonna have to traverse the terrain of the cave to get back out to your base.
If you're moving stuff from one base to the other you still have to go to the other base. Its for if you want to transport more than one inventory full without more than one trip. You still have to get to the other base to get the stuff out of the Enderchest to free up the Enderchest for future use.
Food isn't even an issue. Its not hard to keep your hunger up and bonemeal some wheat or breed some animals to restock that.
If you're transporting far enough that it'll take a night or two(or longer) then you've brought a pickaxe and possibly a bed to hide the night away. So that's not an issue either.
Literally all this does is speed up an easy but frustrating process.

There is one problem, the chests are shared among a server.
Simple to fix. Use it as a trash bin. Anyone can find something they want or need and you can just place your uneeded items there. Of course, the space is very limited, but it's a sollution.
You're simply splitting hairs, it makes the process easier, that's how it speeds it up. It decreases the annoyance of the process. You can't state anything as a fact without setting the proper parameters. You stated something that was false in effort to sound like an intellectual and it failed, leave it alone.

I never considered bringing a ender chest with me when exploring. Now I can definitely see this being overpowered. While I do like the idea of it... it's just well over powered. The idea of using it as a 'backpack' is sort of... wrong. Because with a back pack when you die there is the chance of losing all the stuff inside the back pack. But with a Ender chest... everything in side will be safe even if you lose the enderchest you are carrying around.
On the other hand I actually don't die all that much and it would be nice to continue exploring even after my inventory is full. It becomes rather annoying having to come back up to the surface when I have so much left to explore...
but still.
Definitely over powered.
However I do love that i can put one in each of my bases. That way I don't have to travel between bases just to get a few items that I need.
...
On one hand I want it so that I can't recollect it and on the other... I definitely want to bring it along when I go spelunking. lol

I didn't state anything that was false and I'm not trying to sound like an intellectual. If I was trying to sound smart I'd be studying. Not talking on a Minecraft forum :/ . Nothing in that process is difficult at all so it doesn't make anything easier.
When something is easier and you add something to make that process quicker its called making it more convenient. Just like beds, just like enchanting tables, just like bonemeal, and just like charcoal. Those don't make the overall game easier and neither does this.

I like to play survival mode and make many buildings all over the world, it means that when Im out of resources I have to travel back 1000 blocks, get the material and back to the construction site over and over, and in the middle I can die and lost everything. so, yes, this is a great and convenience magic chest. and it haves a lot of other uses, like instrading between other players
so, like it or not, the answer is "dont use it" go ahead, make the 1000 blocks travel over and over if you want it, i dont

Well, I guess you could also whisper the person you're sending something to so they know when to grab it which would make it relatively hard for someone to grab the item unless they had fantastic reflexes.
I don't think the enderchest is op, it's just freaking awesome. Besides, if you die, even though you don't lose those items, you lose 8 obsidian and an enderpearl, so there's still a downside.
You don't know how to craft it, or even think about it's uses, yet you demand it removed. It can be used for storage, giving away items, and more. Yet you're too selfish to think about anyone else's opinion on this.
Dude, I've seen you make so many threads ever since 1.8 came out, complaining about every little feature.
"Caves are more common than they were in Alpha, the game is ruined!"
Just accept that Enderchests are now in the game, and if they have even the slightest negative impact on you, just go to the suggestion thread and DEMAND that it's removed. That will fix all your problems, and you don't even need to think about other people.
I agree with you on most of the things you bring up, Locklear, including caves being too small and too common, as well as mineshafts being the same.
However, I have to disagree with you on this. My only problem with the ender chest is that it can be used by anyone at any time. This makes it very difficult to have any practical use in multiplayer unless we can, say, create multiple inventories that can only be accessed with a code or something.

Hmm, I put my Rolex in there, but I can't find it..

WILLLL WHEEATONNNNNNN
Lol what?
Worst case scenario you drop a stack of cobblestone or two.
I've never had to drop a valuable item because i didnt have enough room.
I appreciate that.

At least add a long mine time to it, to make mobile use slightly cumbersome.

Maybe twice the time it takes to break obsidian?
