Actually, it's to prove a point. Ice and Snow not melting in the Nether beg the logical question of why Water evaporates in the Nether.
Should it not at least turn it to an Ice block?
The entire concept is hurting your head and seems like it's hurting yours too
Also, it looks cool.
Yeah.
But we can dohoho.
Then I guess the nether's just a big phat cave then
You're one hundred percent correct.
YAY
In this case, all I see is all or nothing. You either allow Water to make things make logical sense, or you remove everything else. Contradictions aren't fun.
And if you remove the contradictions, people will make sense of the remainder. If Water is allowed, people will stop assuming the Nether is a "pure" hellscape. If everything else is removed, people will stop wanting water.
People will move on, depending on what is done.
Key word here is eventually. Once kids realize that Mojang far overpowers them in terms in suggestions I think the game will be a better place. In due time we will have a good balance for both people...
As seen with redstonevet90.
I see that.
And is closed now.
Really? Damn, shows how much I've been following that.
Anyway, the Nether is very much a hellscape, but it, like Dante's Inferno, is a different type of hellscape. In this case, the Nether is a hellscape which allows the existence of Ice and Snow blocks but, for whatever illogical reason, does not allow Water.
If there would be gameplay issues with implementing Water in the Nether, they could be easily addressed with changes to how water works in the Nether.
so by your logic if i place ice in a desert, it is no longer a desert... foolish.
...
Really?
I just said that it was a different type of hellscape that allowed Ice and Snow to exist, and said nothing about how making an igloo would change that.
You are the person who thinks that the Nether is a "stereotypical hellscape" here.

Which it's not.
it looks like any stereotypical picture of hell. its quite obvious.
and snow and ice does not exist in any thing that you can call a hellscape. this is why snow and ice and water does not generate in the nether!
if there is snow and ice there it is not a hellscape. clearly.
so by your logic if i place ice in a desert, it is no longer a desert... foolishness.
it doesn't fit with the concept and as i mention there are balancing issues.
In the old page 15, I actually said how to fix all of that.
Water could evaporate into the lava, if water comes in contact with lava in the nether, the flow block that comes in contact with the lava will dissolve, and all the flowing blocks could move a block forward, including the source, until it's all gone.
Blazes can dissolve the water easily due to their temp, they'd do that like an enderdragon would go through blocks.
And as for fire being put out with it, you can follow logic that the netherfire is so strong the water wouldn't be able to put it out.
it looks like any stereotypical picture of hell. its quite obvious.

I just said that the Nether is not a stereotypical hellscape, in that it allows Ice and Snow to be placed, which has nothing at all to do with the generation of the Nether.
Follow the train of thought.
Don't just shout out random things in order to make yourself think you proved a point.
if there is snow and ice there it is not a hellscape. clearly.
Then you might want to stop calling the Nether a hellscape because my Igloo looks freaking amazing there.
As we've been saying, yes, the nether is a hellscape, but who says it's a stereotypical hellscape?
It can already have snow and ice in it, which proves it isn't the sterotypical hellscape.
Except the developers have specifically said it is a hellscape.
Seems to me like you're the one "imagining things".
I said "it is not a hellscape as you imagine it."
Well then what you are saying makes absolutely no sense.
It is either a hellscape or it isn't. It's not very difficult. Think hard.
Just like that, Minecraft has its own version of a hellscape.
the nether is largely based on a stereotypical hellscape, like the develops have said it is.
there is absolutely nothing in the nether that would suggest that it was inspired by dantes inferno.
LOL. foolishness.
I said that the Nether was its own interpretation of what is a hellscape.
LOL. Foolishness.
its not, its a stereotypical hellscape. its obvious if you look at it for a second.

Up until the point where someone decides to place Ice and Snow blocks and makes it into an igloo.

More hellscaping and doomsaying!

Also, how does snow fit with the concept?
Wha...wh...what? WHAT? WHAT? HOW DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN?
+_+

Look no water, only fire and red landscape.
that's stereotypical hellscape.
you'll have to tell the developers that.
It can already have snow and ice in it, which proves it isn't the sterotypical hellscape.
