Hi I want to know what is the /give command if I want a enchanted diamond sword, the enchantment has to be fire aspect. and I want it to be level x/10. What is the give command? /give [my user here] 276 1 [WHAT GOES HERE?]
Not even sure that is even possible to spawn in an enchanted item.
The enchantment ID for fire aspect is 20 if you want to give it a go. However [WHAT GOES HERE?] is the damage value, so typing 20 in there will probably just give you a damaged sword.
20 or any higher number (like 30) for the last number just gives you a diamond sword that appears to have 1 click of damage. If an op grabs a diamond sword, they can now enchant it to any level in 1.2.3 regardless of their XP (not sure if that is just if they are in creative mode). I just did that on a vanilla survival server on my own PC (got knockback II).
That might not work if you just have "access" to creative mode on a server (unlimited enchanting didn't seem to work for me on a Bukkit survival server). But if you fight mobs or break bottles of enchanting, you can gather XP. I have a bunch of dungeons on that server, including one location where I have a triple skeleton dungeon, an open surface zombie spawner (was just under sand) a short minecart ride from there, and cave with another skeleton and zombie spawner and abandoned mine at other end of tracks. At another location I have a big spider dungeon.
PS: One other thing you can do to enchant it yourself is have an op /give yourname 384 64 0. Break those bottles and suck in the XP.
Enchantment is a compound entity attribute that's coded for in a separate part of an item's NBT entry. /i and /give are only useful for setting data bit in the data value field, i.e. 17:3 for Jungle logs, 98:1 for cracked stonebrick, etc.
You can only set this data bit with certain plugins and mods to your server. The vanilla server command does not allow you to append damage values (it never has). And no current plugin or mod allows you to specify an enchantment using /i or /give.
You have to use a separate command to access that part of the item's NBT entry. For example, Essentials has an /enchant command that lets you enchant an item in hand with an appropriate EID at an appropriate level.
There are other ways to apply specific enchantments to items in your inventory that will also let you set arbitrary levels. But that's the basic rundown on how it's done. /Give won't help you in any way.

You're right, but you can use damage values with /give in vanilla now. I think it was added in 1.1. /For example, if I wanted a stack of wooden slabs, I would type /give Scars75 44 64 2
First, give yourself the sword (/i 276 1) -- /i 276 1 -32657 if you want it to last longer (-32657 is the maximum "un"-damage value)
Second, make sure the sword is selected in the toolbar
Third, type:
/enchant add 20 10
(20 is for fire aspect, 10 is the level)
normally im pretty bad at knowing this stuff but somehow, this i know... somewhat. you gotta spawn (or make) a sword (soz dont know the id) and i dont know if its possible to enchant it while spawning it (my guess is no) but you could always farm for enchantments with the /xp command (ssp). for me i just spawn a diamond block (like i said idk the id for a sword) and make it into diamonds (obviously) and craft a couple of swords. then i put my xp level up high to a lvl like lvl 60 or 90 then i enchant them all and see if they have the enchantments i want or like. if not u toss em away and try again.
I was looking for this as well! Vwcm (my Brother) found it!
/give player diamondsword 1 sharpness:2
this command would give you a diamond sword with
sharpness 2
Hope this helped!

As others have said, it's impossible to use /give to get an enchanted sword. The third value is the damage value, which is, for items with durability, their durability amount. For others, such as the different slabs, wool, and all the dyes, the damage value changes their appearance and sometimes behavior.
Use /enchant <enchantment ID> to enchant any enchantable item in your hand. Unfortunately, you can't get an Efficiency X Diamond Pick or a Sharpness V dirt, since it only works up to the legit max level, and only on enchantable items.
I can't see if you STILL haven't figured this out but it IS possible to spawn in anything that you can get in your inventory. The command goes
/give <player name> <item (1.7+ minecraft:<item/block name>(proper format: command_block)> <quantity (amount)> <damage value (higher the number, less uses left)> <data>
Think it's comfusing?? Here's an example:
/give @p minecraft:bow 1 0 {display:{Name:"Magic Bow",Lore:["The magic bow that is WAY over powered!"]},ench:[{id:34,lvl:999999},{id:48,lvl:999999},{id:49,lvl:999999},{id:50,lvl:999999},{id:51,lvl:999999},{id:21,lvl:20}]}
If you do
/give @p minecraft:command_block 1
then place the command block and copy the 2nd line of code above into the command block, then power the command block, whoever is nearest to the command block will get an over powered bow that is called Magic Bow and the lore is The magic bow that is WAY over powered!
(NOTE: Notice that I used @p. @p means nearest player, @a means all players and @r means random player)
Thanks
Or data value, or whatever the hell it's called.
It's the thing that makes a tree into a birch tree and the likes
Yep damage value
Probably not, the enchantment needs to go there. I want to know what do i type for the enchantment and the level?
