I was having fun in creative mode in 1.2 when I noticed something a bit strange. For some odd reason, my frames per second was skyrocketing to 100 FPS (Please, don't brag about your computer getting always getting 100 FPS, I know my computer is pretty suckish.) At the time I had been building a floating island, I jumped down, and I again had my average 20 FPS. Don't believe me?
So I sort of had a few questions. What was causing this? At first I thought it was because I was so high up it wasn't rendering anything, but it says on the bottom right that the render is using the same amount of data. Or maybe it was just a coincidence. But I did it like 3 times and they all came up with the same results. So I wonder a few things:
What caused this?
Did this happen in 1.1 or is it only in 1.2?
If you have any answers go ahead and discuss.
I apologize in advance if this is a ninja post. Forgot to hit search bar before I typed this post.
The fps relies on the rendering process more than anything else...in the jungle there are a lot of things to render...on the other hand, on your floating island the horizon is empty...
