Well, this is most likely a stupid question, but I'm new to minecraft so think i'm allowed at least one stupid question
Does the new update support HD texture packs? I'm running a vanilla version and am able to swap between the default texture pack up to 128x textures packs without minecraft crashing or any errors being given, just wondering if this is only with me, or if minecraft is simply converting them to 16x texture packs on the fly?
Not that stupid a question really...
OT: Minecraft can sometimes run HD texturepacks without a patch mod applied and not crash, however many textures will be broken and really ugly to look at.
With a HD patcher you eliminate 95% of crashing risk ( i think...) and no textures will be broken (probably).
Sometimes the Patchers don't even need to be updated and work fine with new updates regardless of changes.

You can always switch between normal res. and high res.
But prepare for some buggy textures.
