I have no idea if this is in the right section, but I guess this is new for me to the new update, so here goes. I was quite excited for the 1.2 update, since I am too technologically inept (read: lazy) to use snapshots. Whole bunch of new stuff, cool! Now, here is the problem. I was presented with the screen "would you like to update now"? I responded "yes", of course. The loading screen popped up, then froze upon the message "retrieving packages" or whatever it was, before the percent counter appeared. I repeated the same course of action a few times, doing slightly better: the screens respectively reached 1%, 2%, 18%, 57%, and then thrice 1%. Each time freezing, forcing me to close the screen and start over. I tried the same thing a few times with "force update", but to no avail. Then, I tried to just get on with it and play without downloading. Minecraft froze at "done loading".
Can anyone advise me upon the necessary course of action without raging at me for not posting in the better suited section for this, which there may or may not be? Thanks in advance.
I followed your advice and tried to update it in the browser version, to no avail. However, then I tried updating in the download version and it worked perfectly! Many thanks for your time and advice, and 1+ to you.
