They've finally bitten-off more than they can chew.
Has anyone seen an explanation from Jeb, et al?
I would love to see a statement like, "It seemed like extended worlds was a good idea, but..." But what?
Notice the first time a snapshot has taken back its promise.
I would think that this unprecedented event would cause some explanation from Mojang, but nope. Buyer Beware is all that's left.

This honestly kinda seems like baiting. They gave us an explanation over on their youtube channel. Personally I'm fine with waiting for the next part of the update, it just shows that they don't want to release something half-baked. I feel like the only reason they didn't push back the entire update is because the community would've lost it.
So... You know 1.17 was split in two, but you don't know that Mojang gave an explanation? When even the briefest search would have given you that information? We discussed it in detail on the 1.17 opinions thread, even. There's several links there. There's also a link at the Minecraft wiki, and one at minecraft.net.
Why are you posting on this topic when you haven't made even the slightest effort to understand the issue? But I guess it's easier to run people down without pesky things like information.

Probably because OP thought it is just easier to start a new topic to (basically) whine about it without actually trying to understand the issue. Or god forbid actually search for the information why the update was split in two. That would be too much to ask for, right? /sarcasm
The "explanation" you're searching for is that they're trying to create a solid, bug-free product, and sometimes that means splitting it into two pieces. I'm fine with everything they've added so far, just be patient.

What's wrong with the explanation they gave? I don't think there's any mystery about this.
