Snapshots are works in progress and are not final. I haven't played the snapshot yet but it sounds like most of the cave related generation stuff is not in this version.
So yes, ore generation will change with future Snapshots based on that message. Whether or not it's "optimal" is a different question, the changes in a future snapshot may make copper ore more ore less common, we aren't sure about final levels yet.

They said in minecon live that copper would generate in large "veins" and it is instead currently generating similar to how iron generates. I belive this is not the final plan for it because of this.

Amethyst Geodes are in the game, because I'm watching one at the moment, but the caves are same old, which was expected.

Caves will be changed at a later snapshot. That will be the most annoying part because you'll have to either create a new world or travel very far for every new snapshot that tweaks these generations.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Minecraft 3D
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
In current snapshots, including 20w45a, copper generates the same as iron. In future updates, Mojang will change how copper generates, but we don't know how. This means copper could be more common or less common, so unfortunately your question is difficult to answer. But yes, the copper generation will be different in the new updates.
HOWEVER, the amount of copper available in current worlds is already pretty good, so don't worry about not finding enough if you want to start a world right now. I play on 20w49a and there is plenty of copper in the world already.
Hey all!
So english is not my first language and so I dont understand all the nuance.
But when Adrian annonce that:
Does it mean that if I start a new map, the copper generation will be different with a new incomming update and so, it will not be optimal?
I hope my question make sens.
THanks for taking the time to answer it!
The Chunks need to be updated or new generated.
In your current world just reach areas you never visited before
