So, clearly the idea is to bring in mobs from Earth and Dungeons... But the exact list to vote on is weird: One hostile mob and two passives!
Given that hostile mobs are intrinsically more interesting, and that the Iceologer will fit in well with the new mountain biome, I think it's a shoo-in. What are your thoughts?
To me, iceologers will only make it harder to settle in snowy mountains. It may be a specific new biome for 1.17, or it may be any mountain biome with natural snow on it. We'd need to know more about 1.17 first. I'm able to handle most mobs with only a shield and axe, but illager enemies still give me trouble. And new players won't have that luxury of skill coming from other games.
So I'm going with Bloomshrooms (or whatever they're called). Bees are an interesting mob, and I want to know what their symbiotic relationship is.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Iceologers are the only one that will provide a new interesting hostile mob (and take note that mountains will also be getting goats so that will be two new mobs for the mountains). They will likely drop something cool like a new weapon.
Bloomshrooms will spawn in the already rare as heck flower forest and will be good with bees, but redstone based harvesters are already the most efficient at harvesting bee based resources. I could only see bloom shrooms being good for a secondary pollen source but why have a moving flower when stationary ones are easier to find and work with (and don't moo).
Glow squids are cool and I'm all for more atmospheric mobs but a reskinned squid that ignores light levels is not interesting in the slightest unless it will provide an ingredient for glowing potions (which would make spectral arrows pointless).
I don't think Iceologer will wind up being another phantom. They will just be a unique hostile mob to appear at night in the improved mountain biome. They have my vote.
I still can't believe they're still doing the voting method.I'm not that bothered by it but unless it's not that simple and the game being in the Java engine means more risk of bugs when adding features(which I slightly doubt is the reason), it just seems unreasonable especially since the recent updates prove that they could do more than this.
Also didn't they say how they were gonna add all the biomes from the biome vote.On one hand I have hope that they will keep that promise,on the other hand They didn't seem to say that for the mob votes, and I wonder why.Their promise was to add all the biomes in the future, yet not the mobs.

The excuse for only adding one mob from the first vote was that developing all the concepts would be too hard.
This time the concepts have already been developed. There may need to be some adjusting to fit them into a different environment, but the "hard" part is already done.
I hope to see at least one other biome in 1.17, the promise to do the Taiga first has already been kept so Savannahs and Deserts are now available.
This is a much better mob vote compared to 1.13. The 1.13 vote was four really big concepts which should not be in the hands of the players. This vote is for much lesser additions but the fact that they thought that anything from Minecraft Worlds could compete with any of the hostiles from Dungeons is a joke. Dungeons has a ton of interesting concepts while Worlds only has reskinned animals. On the other hand it might be better that way. Having three enemies from dungeons competing to get in the game would be a complete dumpster fire.

Glow squid doesn't add anything interesting to the game and is basically just a retexture. Moobloom (that's the official name) helps with farming, but, aside from bees, doesn't really affect the rest of the game. Plus, it's just a reuse of the mooshroom idea. Icelogger is the best bet for content, originality, and experience.
I'm just glad that they won't be adding a mob that enforces something that makes the game 3 times easier like they did with the phantom.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Minecraft 3D
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
They're all retextures Ptolemy2002, so your point is moot. Just because the iceologer has a nice little coat on, doesn't mean he's not a re-skin also.
Of course they have made the iceologer the most interesting (It's not like Mojang are trying to sway votes or anything) compared to the other two, so everyone's just going to vote for the pilager in droves, Calling it now.

But it's not just a retexture. The icelogger gives unique ability and adds challenge to the game, unlike the glowing squid. The moobloom does this to an extent, but not enough to get my vote.

It's still a re-texture of a trader, just one that does a special attack unlike said Trader. It doesn't change the fact. The point is, alot on discord are using the weak excuse the other two are just a retextures (What they look like over what they do) as a negative which doesn't change the fact the iceologer's physical appearance is also a retexture as well. Having it hostile doesn't alter whether it's a re-skin or not.
I hope that explained it as I've re-read it and changed it 5 times now!

I know that they are all retextures, but the texture is not the only quality we look at when evaluating value. The icelogger is a retexture, but it's not only a retexture - There's also behavior and challenge components to it as well. Meanwhile, the glowing squid is not only a retexture, but it is redundant (the mob concept is already implemented as a regular squid), the behavior is boring, and it's practically useless for any portion of the game at all.

Of course iceologer will sound better when they've said the most about it little to diddly squat about the other two in comparison. For that reason I really hope iceologer doesn't win so people don't fall for Mojang's plans.

The mobs are already implemented in other games. There's information is already out there. In Minecraft Earth, adding these variant mobs makes sense because they're meant to be collectibles to add part of the incentive to explore, but in regular Minecraft we should really focus on actual content.

Exploring is a part of regular minecraft as mining, building or redstone etc. You're talking like there isn't enough content as there is, for that though something like a survival+ would be better. Think how many temples, ruins we have now, shipwrecks, raids, trading gold in the nether for random stuff.

Minecraft Earth is specifically targeted toward physical activity, and it is meant to be a more social game. If we had a ton of random retextured mobs in regular Minecraft, the whole game would be bloated with useless content.

I'm personally rooting for the Iceologer (or Chillager - the community's unofficial name for it)
Because then you have three really good concepts but only one can get in. With this they basically guaranteed that the iceolger will win.
