I updated my 1.15 game to 1.16 (after making a backup of course). I was disappointed to be attacked by piglins in an "old" 1.15 chunk. I was hoping not to have to wear gold in my already explored regions. I'm glad to have a big chunk of nether in the "old" style because it is less dangerous.
The Nether sounds were much creepier than in 1.15. Or maybe I just had the volume turned down before?

The update has become basically unusable since release. I'm getting hundreds of errors and crashes whenever I try multiplayer. My friend can't even play single player.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Minecraft 3D
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.

i wish i could get our realm to load in 1.16 or 1.16.1 neither will load for me. i can play single player no problem though.
love all the new sounds for sure.
spent yesterday evening in a single player world making an archery range with the new target block! there's going to be a lot to do once the realm starts working!
The quality in these newer updates have absolutely improved compared to the past IMO. You can tell lot more people are working on the game now and the design is more focused.
cuanto van a tardar en sacar los spigot para q actualize el server ya q toda la gente lo espera ya pasaron 2 dias la comunidad se desespera ya hay mucha tencion y en los sv ya se bajan los usuarios
Is there a reason my piglins wont pick up gold ingots or gold nuggets? I can barter with them with ingots by right clicking just fine but they ignore gold i drop on the ground or dropped from dispenser/dropper. I wear gold armor, not open chests, not near soul flames, not near zombie pigmen... and they still wont pick gold up
Changing the Nether from 'literal hell' to 'the minecraft underworld, with fungus trees, gold craving pig people, giant aggressive boars, ruined shells of once glorious bastions, valleys of the souls of the damned, etc.' is an interesting decision but I rather like it. The nether wastes still captures the feel of a desolate hellscape, so that particular vibe isn't entirely gone.

I'm also glad the wastes still exist, because the hopelessness they give off is part of what makes the game powerful for me. Overworld - ignorance. Nether - doubt. End - acceptance. You are stuck in Minecraft forever (well unless you want to just quit ).

Tomará un tiempo, esta actualización expuso muchos errores y fallas técnicas. Además, sus jugadores en los servidores pueden volver a ediciones anteriores, ¿no? ¿O es esta edición de Bedrock?
I think it might interest some of you guys, as it talks about how 1.16 and other updates aren't taking the path they should (no, I wasn't the one who made the post)

Thanks for pointing that out. That topic has become pretty heated.

Isn't it kind of sad that for one moment everyone was excited for updates like the Nether Update then a few months later after the update is released people think it's lackluster and believe Mojang is lazy and that they should've done more?
It's worth to note that if you're the creator of something, you're never going to make everybody happy. That's just the way it is. Especially with something like Minecraft. The longer something goes on for and the more people follow it exacerbates this drastically. Minecraft has both of those in spades. 11 years and the most popular game of all time will do that. Different people have different ideas and interests and impress that upon their expectations.
It is kinda sad, but it is what it is. I think they could have done more given the resources at their disposal, BUT I'm pleased with what we have. The nether is more interesting now. It's a fun place to explore, with haunting ambience and wonderful music, with new rewards and resources. They've accomplished what they set out to do.
Mods and modders will always outdo the main developers of a game. I've seen it time and time again. Most of these modders don't have to deal with the spaghetti code of the core game, and passion guides them. KSP is a particularly prominent example, for one, though having met them, some of the modders there are terrible people.
I still think 1.7.10 is the best, its got all the base Minecraft features without any thing crazy like bees. The new versions look like a modded world with a texture pack. (except for slime blocks, those are cool)
When 1.8.0 first came out I was mad because my skin was stuck on Alex (we played offline) and i didn't know how to change it. I also like the old launcher better, its easier to debug and use mods.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is half as big as it needs to be.

(I think it depends on whether you just poured water in or poured water out.)

I understand that, despite what I've said I too am actually content with what we have. These updates are still quite as interesting as the past updates(if not more interesting).Still really wish Mojang would do more though, I feel like they've only scratched the surface of what mods could do, but I believe that they are slowly getting there with each update. However, I feel like they should really focus more on overhauling certain past features that need a rework, like beacons.
Everyone! The Caves & Cliffs Update A.K.A. The Cave Update we've been hoping for has just been announced! What do you all think of the features revealed so far?

There is a new thread talking about the announced 1.17 update material:
So you're okay with things like Netherite? I mean I'm okay with it but some people don't seem to like it.
What is this "spaghetti code" you're talking about?
I am indeed "okay" with Netherite. In fact I'm quite pleased. It was a long time coming and it gives another reason to explore the nether as well as an incentive to dig through its lower layers. Some potential lore fuel too, but nothing concrete; you make your own story in Minecraft.
"Spaghetti code" refers to old, messy, and hard to work with internal programming of a game. Games made on a lower budget and/or new and inexperienced creators suffer from this, as do long-staanding games. Minecraft and KSP are both of those. The games base programming will be an incoherent mess, jerry-rigged to get things to work without having to tear down old infrastructure. Not with the intent of being lazy, but out of not knowing better ways, not expecting future pressure, and saving the stress of redoing other things to account for it. It's part of the natural evolution of any work. As one gets better, early works will be realized as dilapidated and inefficient.
They've definitely added a bunch of new sounds.

A 1.16.1 will surely be out soon.
I have not played much of the game this week, just 20 minutes of one world, but no issues on my end. Played mostly 1.6 for a while.
No issues as yet.... However, I haven't ventured into the nether yet.
