has anyone else had kelp beds start growning wild and pushing water up with them? my kelp near my base is growing out of control. this used to be all ground level water like the right of the picture, but its now four blocks higher with no internvention from me.
been experimenting, if there is water above kelp (flowing or not) the kelp will grow into it and spread pushing the water up with it to the same level as the highest water block. the image below is the same kelp bed as the prvious image. i had ot build a four block hihg wall to keep it from destroying my rails.

Yes that makes sense and would seem to be "Working as intended".
Kelp grows up into flowing water and turns it into source blocks which would extend the flow, etc, etc.
So if you had a waterfall flowing into your kelp pond that's what happens.

Just testing.
Emmm...
The 1.13.
So far I've only seen this bug on bedrock, confirmation from OP is needed.
It definitely does it in 1.13.1

Well best thing to do would be to report to Mojang and let them decide whether that's by design or not.
That seems to be exactly how MS/Mj works.
