Umm no! look at the comments on youtube video where people explain this new terracotta. They all hated the terracotta. It doesn't fit in to minecraft. I think mojang should completely removed this block or tweak it.

It's a niche block. You're not supposed to use it all willy-nilly.
While I agree Mojang could add more general-purpose blocks, that doesn't make these bad.
I really like the idea, and the blocks alone look nice. It's just that they don't have much multi-purpose uses. I can see myself use them in very specific situations only.
The vast majority of the builders I have online seen hate the blocks. About 90% of reviews.
Builders? Or just people who play Minecraft? There is a difference.
Also, how much have you actually looked? 90% of all people you've seen... how many have you seen? Statistics don't work unless you have all of the information.
It's fairly common knowledge very few people outside of MCF like these blocks. Near universal condemnation even from Youtubers (except the shills who pay to have their videos linked on the news page - then for some reason they like them). Reddit is full of hate threads for the blocks.
So, yes, Leslie is right. Based on my own observations and real life connections very few players seem to like them.

Leaving aside that personal observation of a narrow set of information is not sufficient proof of anything (see the people who are giving contrary observations), what kind of arguments do they have?
Does it not fit? The same has been said of many blocks... until the rage wore off and everyone started using them for all sorts of building.
Can they not find a use for it? Well it's a niche block. You're not supposed to use it willy-nilly.
Is it not aesthetically pleasing? Then they're using it wrong. Again, niche block.
So what masterful, rational, impossibly amazing argument are they using to prove their point of view? "There's more of us who think this way?" Yeah, because that's not invalid at all.
I feel you man. I am really disliked the terracotta. Textures are too busy in my opinion. Instead of adding sideways slab or stairs and slab for most block that many builders want. They add this.
Builder: we want more block *expect vertical slab*
Mojang: Yeah, let's add this busy 90's mozaik styled irrelevant block to minecraft!
While I do think they should tone the colors of the new blocks down a bit (more specifically the wool) this update is amazing for map-makers since they have a ton of new blocks they can use to retexture for maps.
While I can certainly think of a few uses for the Terracotta blocks, I feel there are many better things that can be done to bring justice to something dubbed "The Builder's Update." I enjoy new textures and patterns of course, but what we really need are more shapes to work with. Many blocks still don't have slab/stair variants and frankly that should have been done ages ago. From my point of view, Mojangles seems to have a poor sense of direction. They add the most random things while leaving gaping craters unfilled. When I think of a builder's update, my mind is immediately drawn toward mods like Carpenter's Blocks, Forge Microblocks, and Chisel being both last and least. As I stated before, I feel more options in the realm of shapes open up more possibilities than textures. Textures, on the other hand; instead of being flashy, totally bonkers and random, should compliment the existing blocks. Much like Chisel and its variants of stone bricks. And IF new textures are to be introduced, which is not inherently a bad thing, at least make sure the previous bits of content are fully fleshed out.
Textures can easily be changed with resource packs. Some have said that the large of influx of new blocks gives resource pack makers more room to work with. That's true, but it only perpetuates the same old hum drum minecraft stuff. More shapes and models (side slabs, walls, spatial orientation) would revolutionize building. It would have a far greater impact on the craft.
Another point I'd like to make is that I disagree with people who give Mojang flack for taking inspiration from mods. Mods are made because they fill a void in the game. They are made by the people who play the game regularly, thus they are more in tune with its needs. Modders are an extension of the main developers and their vision is invaluable. Taking inspiration from them is not a crime, but a wise choice.

Modders aren't an "extension" of a main developer. I code and mod so.
I agree that shapes and or models may be a groovy n' smooth kinda' thing to implement. Architecturecraft may be cool for that.

The cyan color is nice n' smooth I enjoy it :]
I think you missed the point. I don't mean they're an extension in the business sense or that they work on the same team. I mean they should be treated as an extension because modders tend to have a better vision, and to not take inspiration from their work would be foolish. I'm not trying to spout off a list of specific mods, that's pretty irrelevant. I only gave examples to show, from a conceptual viewpoint, what it is we really need.
Lets stay on topic of the new blocks please. No need to get into where modders fit in the development of Minecraft, that doesn't really apply to some people disliking the new blocks.

Complaining without offering solutions is just empty chatter, so I chose to point at a few mods that represent concepts that would make a better alternative to these random blocks. Also, like any properly formed argument, I went ahead and refuted a possible counter by disagreeing with those who might shame Mojang for "copying" mods. It only became off topic when someone didn't see the point, which required me to reiterate. Anyhow, I think the backlash for this update is quite apparent. It should either be refined, or additional content thrown in to make up for the lackluster blocks.
Let me give a reason on why this terrifying block should never ever exist in Minecraft:
1. Minecraft art stytle should be simplistic. Every block in most update match the theme. And most of them also aren't noisy as these block.
2. Get This. This is mojang first move. Next? mojang will add more of this awful textured block into Minecraft.
I mean what's next? chisseled dirt with rainbow effects. Minecraft art stytle should be this simplistic, slightly desaturated aesthetic texture. Not this monstrosity.
Well, the entire basis for your argument is wrong, so I think you'll need to reform it...
The update was never dubbed "The Builder's Update", so I'm not sure where you're getting that idea. It's actually the "World of Color" update, as mentioned by Bopogamel on reddit.

Revamped an old build. Which is my recreation of a modern impressionistic painting in Minecraft. I used the new wool to give the colours on the floor a bit of a boost, I think these new textures are really nice, there's almost a sort of glow to them. Think they will be very good for some of the more artistic builds in Minecraft, but still a little sceptical on how it could affect realistic or modern buildings.
As someone who built a "Puerto Rican District" on one of my maps though...
I'm a little more optimistic.

This forum has made me decide that I now want kids, so that when they get old enough, I can forbid them from coming here. it's a terrible place.

On my 144hz monitor, with Gsync ON, they dont hurt my eyes one bit.
However, with Gsync off, they do.

The only problem I have with the new blocks is you have to build by even numbers of they look funny when I always build in odd numbers.
Thinking about creating my own textures for them to work in odd numbers
I think that people just haven't given them a chance and are looking for a reason to hate the new updates, just like they did 1.9's combat mechanics.

As far as making the world more colorful, I'd say terracotta and the other new blocks do a pretty good job of that.
EDIT: Just for clarity. Here's an example of what you can do with the new color palette from the above thread.
