I suppose so. So far I've been somewhere over five years in MC and I haven't changed my texture pack beyond a tiny pack that replaces the painting images. So it'll be kind of odd to actually start using a full pack. I've always kind of like the fact that what I see is what everyone else on our server sees.
I guess the part that bothers me, really, isn't the brightness of the new colours. That part's fine. It is the fact that they are different colours. For instance, that light blue isn't just a brighter sky-blue, it is now almost more of a teal. Changing brightness is one thing, but changing the actual colours... No, not a fan of that.
All that being said here's a change I would like to see: A new way to get blue dye. Ideally, something like the double-tall flowers that produce some of the other colours. It is kind of frustrating how few things can be used to make blue.

Keep in mind, that this is the first snapshot of 1.12. There will be changes made further down the line, so I wouldn't get too spiteful just yet. Maybe Mojang was just trying something out, and with enough opposition they'll change it back?

I think it's because they're making the new blocks more saturated, and the old light blue was less saturated then then others, thus it seems like a larger change. Personally I welcome the change.
I absolutely agree with the 2nd point. Honestly just making it so we get blue dye from the swamp orchids would be nice on it's own.

White flowers (like oxeye daisies) don't give you bone meal, they give you light-gray dye - despite being white - because bone meal comes from bones, not flowers. I think this would work the same way with lapis lazuli, unless mojang gives us a seperate item in a future snapshot to replace lapis's function as blue dye, or it would be a bit odd.
(Also, perhaps, if this becomes a hot topic, maybe this could get it's own thread?)
That's the thing though, in real life, Lapis WAS mainly used as pigment in oil paints and other forms of dyes. Until other methods came along, lapis was the end-all be-all of deep blue pigment and was highly praised and renowned. Some of the most famous paintings featured lapis lazuli as the blue color used.
I seldomly used lapis as dye though. I love enchanting and having it as a dye feels like a waste.

I think you guys got your wish on the light blue. The concrete powder still looks cyan, but the concrete and wool are coming up the same hue as the wool in 1.11.2, or even 1.10, for me.
Now if they'd just update to my version of the silver terracotta...

Still showing up the same. That might be a bug (unfortunately).

Personally, those blocks looked good, but instead of adding blocks, couldn't they add something else like furniture or new ores? Maybe new structures? I'm getting bored of always fighting the same things again and again. Yes, i know that the Woodland Mansion has been added, but i've haven't been able to find it.

I think a lot of the changes are good, but they're also bad. They are basically ruining a lot of the original color schemes, and they should either hold off and update it all at once, or keep both colors
A lot of these changes are LONG overdue, especially fixing the awful wool colors that Notch picked. Better late than never though. I hope they add stairs and slabs for all the new blocks too, and for the old ones that don't have stairs and slabs.

The Mojang team is running out of block ids, but they're working on a fix for that now.
While i really like the new blocks i think it's a bit too less to justify a new minecraft version. Feels like that could have easily be done as a mod within a day or so
It very well could. Although, recently Jens has been swamped by things like meetings.
From the videos i've seen and the pictures, the new blocks could make for some very nice decorations. I'll dig into it personally when i have more free time.

Shadow, visit the bug tracker site at https://bugs.mojang.com/ and first run a search to see if an issue similar to yours has been filed.
Look for details on how and when in the operation the program crashed, and any system error messages. If there is an existing report, add a comment if you wish, (especially if you have details that no one said before,) then vote and watch the issue to let Mojang know more people are having that issue.
If no issue is already filed, then file a new report and give as many details as possible: Operating System and version, x32/64, video card and driver version, Launcher version, exact MC version (such as 17w06a, since 1.12 is not yet public) which mods and versions you may be using, (if you use mods, did you try loading without mods?) and all the details you can give on what the crash looks like, any error message, and output from your MC crash logs.
The crash logs on a Windows computer are usually in C:\Users\ (YourWindowsUserName) \AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\crash-reports\
Hope you find what you need. Good luck!
P.S.: It never hurts to also do a web search before or while you file a report. Sometimes things get solved unofficially before the company is able to take care of a problem, and there are MANY unofficial forums for Minecraft users.
And even if they were straight up ripped from mods, who cares? They would be Vanilla, easily accessible for everyone, even those who don't like modded or don't know how to mod. Isn't that a good thing?
Well I mean, if you directly took something from the community, it'd be nice if you mentioned it somewhere.
Luckily, though, Mojang actually does that. They also ask first before taking from mods on the rare instances they do.
I'm guessing people just think "Aw its from a mod Mojang is running out of ideas Minecraft is dying :(((((". I don't really know how they get that conclusion, but that's just how it seems to be.

Given how huge and imaginative the modding community can be for Minecraft, coming up with an addition/idea that is both completely new and of interest to most players can't be easy. Just saying.

I know. It's pretty difficult doing something new when it's basically all been done, but Mojang still surprises us.
I'm not one of the people saying "Aw mojang is uncreative", I was just trying to figure out the minds of the people who did.

Figured it was time for a change.

I've played those mods and these aren't anything like what those offer.
