If you capitalize Village it should work? It worked for me anyway. Needs to be fixed though, because who would remember to capitalize every time?
I had "Village" capitalized and was there in the same spot in the air.
did
/locate Village
While looking at a village and it returned the image above. Closed the game, brought it back up, loaded the same world, in the same spot I typed the same command, and it worked.
As if it only worked if the chunks were loaded... Which defeats the purpose of the command entirely. But then again, the chunks were loaded... I was looking at the village... So I don't know how that works. I just know it doesn't work right.
I got a crash from the furnace as well.... >.< ... oooo that's not good.

I don't think chunks have to be loaded. Did the command in a new world without really moving and it located a village pretty quickly. It was certainly a short way away, so its chunks couldn't of been loaded.

A pic is a pic, I'm glad you find it functioning for you... For now. I planned on doing the same thing in a newly spawned world.... My experience was different. Not an exactly reliable command.
The info doesn't really sooth my first experience with this command... at least I know its kinda' workin' on other peoples ends. I have slight hope for it.

Are you suure you capitalized everything properly? I did get that error first time tryin' because I didn't.
Your output shows the word "village" in all lowercase, and after a quick test, that output puts exactly what you type (Then the word "feature"), capitals and all.
I typed the command correctly it returns lower case if it fails to find a village. <--- see what this bug did to me?
edit:
Ok, maybe not.... You may be right.
because I did /locate Village in the nether and it returned Village not village
But I recall specifically tabbing the command to be certain I inputted it correctly. So I still don't know what's going on.
I had typed /locate village. Then I was like no... I need to tab that to be certain I'm doing this right.
So I retyped it, entered "/locate Village" (that's why I put it in quotes) after seeing that it was indeed "/locate Village" and not "/locate village"
Then the result was the picture above. Exactly what happened. I'd sure like to see this command not throw red for things that could be mistyped. (I know I didn't mistype it though). In other words it shouldn't be able to look for things that don't exist. There is a bug somewhere in there... and it happened to me.
I double checked it with tab... I know I did not mistype it. Not only am I suure, I am certain I did not mistype it. That is why I screenshotted it and posted it. I was tabbing it and it was returning the bug. It may have occured because before entering the command correctly I had previously entered it wrong. Then I tabbed it to see what was going on, entered it correctly and still got the same error message.
My fps set to unlimited, while inside of the new mansion structure I won't get to explore... I can literally sit here and watch the memory usage lag, like it'l jump from 20% to %40-60 Its supposed to raise and lower through numbers fluidly... This is so wrong....
Why was this released? What's going to happen to minecraft :|? What is happening to minecraft :|? Why is this happening!?
I'm going to allow this to die down, and then see what my fps is.... I do not know what the odds of this happening are, but I reduced my render distance to 4 and kept on exploring the thing regardless of my framerates. I just have the worst luck maybe..... Or maybe I'm lucky if this thing doesn't burn down all the way xD. Fantastic
Noooo, not the cows!!!! xD I don't know how they got there, but its priceless. There for a moment I was just a little bit worried. Now, Cows on a roof.
This thing is actually pretty cool, it was the fire that was doing it....
I think the reason why it throws up red for non-existing structures is because it only checks the location for said structure, not if it exists. The command has a few little quirks like that it seems.
Another one is when you're in a no structures world. It will tell you the location of structures (But they won't be there) It also fails to properly locate structures in most customized worlds if the structure gets moved/removed due to terrain changes.
It also outputs absolutely nothing at all (Not even an error message) if a customized world has only one biome and that biome is one that has no unique structures.
Step one:
place any color of shulker box down other than purple.
Step two:
break the shulker box.
Intended behavior:
When breaking the shulker box appropriate particles show for each color.
Actual behavior:
When breaking shulker boxes that are not purple, purple break particles show.
Not anything gamebreaking... json break particles aren't polished though....
edit:
Snowballs still aren't right, still being thrown from within the players head in a bad spot/angle.
More people know if I post it here.
my results from the new "/locate Village" command:
Quitting the game and reloading it, I did the command again. It found the village I could clearly see before the command could find it.
The spit from the llamas is not a /summon entity either... that is also a bug. You can summon a fireball, but not flying water?
I just tried to smelt some iron ore.
I made a furnace and placed it.
placed the iron ore in the furnace
tried to place some coal in the furnace and Minecraft crashed.
This happened twice.
I'm running pure vanilla, of course.

I got a crash from the furnace as well.... >.< ... oooo that's not good.
can you please spoiler that? It'd be cool of ya.
edit: thanks
Hopefully, all of this will be fixed before the actual release

I was there man... I was there.
Fantastic
This may be the culprit:
Noooo, not the cows!!!! xD I don't know how they got there, but its priceless. There for a moment I was just a little bit worried. Now, Cows on a roof.
This thing is actually pretty cool, it was the fire that was doing it....
Ok so that one burned down, and it turned out quite ugly so I started up a new world....
No one can be this unlucky...
