Hey everyone I'm having SO much fun with the combat update snapshots!
I recently beat the game with my roommate on LAN (about a month ago) after not playing since Alpha 1.1.2 and the day after I slew the Ender Dragon I found out about these snapshots, discovered hoppers and droppers, item frames and comparators for the first time... And a whole bunch of other mechanics I'm really embarrassed to say I was ignorant to until these past two weeks.
Needless to say, I'm doing everything I can to acclimate to the new minecraft environment. One such thing was the discovery of different qualities of texture packs! Back in 2010 when I played I didn't know about texture packs other than modding my own for clear glass. Today I have a 32x32 which is made out of a few different packs, with a couple edits for the snapshots done by myself in a bit of a hurry.
My question is how many people are playing the snapshots as their main version?
Do people even still play SSP? Are their any SMP's trying to do snapshots? Is that possible? (I've never played SMP to be frank)
And my other question is, if you are - do you have your texture packs up-to-date and am I forgetting any changes to them?
- Redstone dust is now dot and line, not cross and line
- The edits to the HUD for swing damage
- Brewing stand
- Inventory UI
Now to be fair I haven't worried about things like the new boats or Elytra models because they are seldom used, I've simply prioritized the issues I've run into. I can't believe I never changed my texture pack before, and now in 32x32 - I'm so excited to get to the End, I'm just loading up on ender pearls in my new world now and looking forward to it. I learned a lot the first time around (brought -everything-, died -instantly-)
