The Mojang has been removed this snapshot.😰😰
Yeah, but I set it as a profile before that happened and I can go back and forth just fine. I guess I'm one of the few who will get to continue the whimsy on this one! I planned to do the same with Minecraft 2.0 for a while, but the auto-update to the launcher crushed that possibility flatter than a player squashed by a falling Anvil!

If regular is Vanilla then what flavor is your Minecraft?

You can still play Minecraft 2.0, and download it here; not sure what "auto update" means; I can only think of how the launcher will automatically redownload any game files that don't match the checksums on Mojang's servers (hence why I think the common advice to reinstall Minecraft when there is a problem with the game is useless in most cases) but that can be bypassed by simply renaming the version folder and the jar and json inside (as explained here, a necessity for modding).

I'll have to experiment more with that. For some odd reason my bro could never get it to work. If it works for me then I'd be really curious as to what went wrong with his attempt. He's usually better at those kind of things.

I would figure this out on my own, but no longer have Minecraft installed on my computer, and I would love to add this to the main post.
If you use the url s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/<version>/<version>.jar, you can get the jar any version of Minecraft except 2.0, this is Mojang's download server so it's safe. Of course, you still need an account, the launcher and the .json. You can get the json with the same url, just replace .jar with .json.
Oh, I remember going there when I had issues downloading Minecraft versions. (It would always fail and give up on downloading from the launcher itself) I will add that later when I have more time

That's actually a really cool trick to know! Thanks Leviathan!

Nothing to see here.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I'll have to experiment more with that. For some odd reason my bro could never get it to work. If it works for me then I'd be really curious as to what went wrong with his attempt. He's usually better at those kind of things.

You can still get the 15w14a snapshot, it's still hosted on Mojang's download servers, you'd need the json though.
Please don't PM me asking for help, I will just redirect you to the appropriate forum, where there are others who are far more skilled than me.

Can you explain a bit more?
