I managed to get "_clementine"! Pretty good, if you ask me.
Edit: Just checked, and it looks like nobody has "clementine" yet, which I could have gotten instead. Oh well, I guess I can check to see if it's still available later. I like the how stylized "_clementine" looks anyways.
I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
Because I chose mine a long time ago and I regret my decision now.

That's good that you like your username, then. You don't have to worry about the name-changing.

I changed mine because it is more fitting with Minecraft (my old name came from my Happy Wheels account, which in turn was my second account there) despite the fact I had to use NBTExplorer on my world to make sure tamed animals recognized me since I've still on 1.6.4 (this is why they added UUIDs in 1.7.10-1.8 and what they meant by supporting name changes; otherwise, the game doesn't care what your name is in singleplayer).
Of note, this is what I did to convert over to my new name:
Using NBTExplorer to edit the "owner":
This wasn't as simple as just going in the files though and editing a string; to find where they were located I located each of my bases, where all of the animals I've tamed are (mostly ocelots sitting outside the entrances) using Minutor and converted the coordinates into chunk and region coordinates (here is a tool that makes it easy; note that the exact chunk coordinate is (region number) * 32 + chunk number inside region so chunk 5, 10 in region -1, 0 is located at -27, 10).
Renaming statistics to keep stats and achievements:
This is as simple as renaming the file "stats_playername_unsent.dat" (there is also an "old" file which is a backup and can be ignored) and inside the file changing your name; note that you must not change anything else or the game will reset the file (it uses a checksum on all the stats, plus the stat IDs are encoded, such as {"16843025":6}, to ensure no tampering was done, at least up to 1.6.4):
I also tested these beforehand by editing the default playername in MCP to be a fixed name (normally randomized as Player + (number from 0-999) if no name is supplied, making it difficult to test the effects of name changes) and testing it on a test world to make sure it actually worked in both cases.
I didn't change my name as I thing Aussie_Genesis is the best name I've come up with yet, so yeah. But I'll keep my forum name what it is as this was a creative one as well for me.

You're a very...well let's say insane person. You probably weren't in your right mind when you changed it. Or you could be just insane, either one.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
