Now that shields are added, I'm 100% sure new hostile mobs will be added too. Since your basically invincible with diamond armor ALREADY, shields and better arrows will make it even easier. I swear that if there arent more monsters addded in 1.9, I will never play survival again in that version. NEVER.
Maybe adding hostile mobs that are harder to defeat could be rare monsters, and maybe they would drop a rare item that will make the player hunt for these monsters to obtain the item.
Can we have a debuff of the strength potion? Seriously, it is absurd. Strength II allows you to do an extra 10 freaking hearts. Potions should be minor improvements to overall stats, not the match-maker of a fight. (+260% bonus damage is game breaking).

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? If you buff the current mobs, the beggining of the game will be extremely hard. A huge wave of zombies at your spawn is already annoying.
That's because Mojang can't design gameplay mechanics to save their lives: how many games let almost all foes spawn everywhere and since the very beginning? If they have no idea what "progression" means, blame them.

Lag issues? I haven't noticed anything major so far...
Not to mention the update won't be released until late fall if not later than that. With that said it's a bit early to say that it will suck.
There has never been a lag issue since 1.5, so i actually think they are not going to add anything to advanced into the game thats going to lag the server. Also its all about the connection you have to the mojang office in Sweden. So yeah, i think they've fixed the bug since 1.5 and there wont be lag on the new update!
